OpenFAST Tutorial (1/4) - First simulation
This video is an introduction to OpenFAST. You are welcome to try running the cases for yourself. The associated files can be found at the following address: gitlab.in2p3.fr/lheea/oracle/tutorials/openfast_quickstart . This tutorial was developed at Centrale Nantes with support from the Oracle research cluster.
In the first video, we set a very simple example of a rigid, non-rotating, fixed wind turbine with no wind. We use the ElastoDyn module.
OpenFAST is an open-source tutorial dedicated to simulating offshore wind turbines, both fixed and floating. It is developed at NREL, and everything from the source codes to the examples can be accessed on their GitHub page (github.com/openfast).

Dans le cadre du projet ExplOr financé par l’Institut CARNOT MERS (description ci-dessous), une campagne intensive de mesure réunissant de manière originale des mesures de vent par LiDAR scannant, vagues et aérosols a été menée à Belle-île-en-Mer sur la période mars-juillet 2023. La combinaison des mesures a pour ambition de documenter les interactions vent-vagues au-dessus de la mer.

Have you guys talked with Joe Fernando group form Uni Notre Damme from USA. They had their scanning lidars with stabilizing platform on ship some years ago. Also NOAA did it remarkably well almost two decades ago.

There is no maintenance on these installations in harsh weather.
