FALSE INFORMATION FROM JUNIE JOSEPH, BASICALL DISAGREEING WITH HER OWN ACCESS TO JUSTICE BILL Jerry good morning, I am sorry that I cannot help on your judicial matters. [FALSE: I am asking Junie to advocate for a bill that she is a principle sponsor of that passed 64-1 in the general assembly, supported by IAALS and ACLU. An accurate statement would be ‘I could help you as a display of commitment to my own bill, but I don’t want to.] 1) I am a lawyer I cannot give you random legal advice. [False, I am not asking for legal advice, and even if I was, any lawyer can advise me on any legal issue.] 2) separation of the branches of government. [False; Separation of Powers prohibits the legislative from making decisions on behalf of the judiciary. It does not prohibit legislators from expressing an opinion about any issue before the courts, e.g. via amicus.] 3) I have reflected on some of the comments you made to me about my bill from last year. Most of the part you were quoting is in the legislative declaration. Also that bill was to codify a department in statute. So it would not grant you any specific rights. [False, the bill sets out an expectation of what the legislature expects the judiciary to comply with; in this case similar to rule the ABA has set out for all state courts regarding access to justice.] I am sorry Jerry that I have not been of more help to you in your judicial struggles. You should consider retaining counsel if possible. Keep fighting the good fight Jerry. [The good fight here is me asking the Colorado Supreme Court to comply with ABA Model Rules, CRS 24-50-101, CRS 13-5.5-107, CRS 13-5.7-101.] Thanks! Junie
