We remember the Holocaust - December 1942
A very powerful song written by Cork man Ricky Lynch and gifted to Christy Moore for his album Flying into Mystery, (he's the only one who can do this song justice, in my opinion!).
How another human being can possess so much hatred for another human being is beyond me.
To those who died between 1933 and 1945, we remember you!

The Stardust Song - Some day justice will be served.
มุมมอง 422 ปีที่แล้ว
Christy voiced his support for the families of the Stardust tragedy in 1981 with this powerful song. Despite the difficult situation he found himself in, he stood by his belief in justice and fairness. The song resonates today as much as it did in 1981/1982, those families, forty years on, still seek justice and fairness - we stand with you!

From the pen of Johnny Duan, a lovely song of words and melody.
There's only so much - So Much Wine

Lovely song from the Handsome family, Brett and Rennie Sparks. - Christy Moore recorded this song after watching George Best play - the words speak for themselves and it's easy to see why this song struck a chord for Christy as he watched Best loose his way!
Remembering Jack Doyle - The Contender

Beautiful lament to Jack Doyle by Jimmy Mc Carthy. Doyle, one of Ireland's forgotten talents, a world class boxer, singer and movie star had the world at his feet but got lost to the excesses of fame and wealth. Sad end to a wonderful Irish talent!

Wonderful tribute and reminder of the Irish who joined in the Spanish Civil war against Franco in 1937, written by Christy Moore. Christy at his best, a great song inspired by Michael O Riordan's book the Connolly Column.

Written by Barney Rush and a favourite of my wife Cathy. She calls on me to sing this when even there's a sing song going on! God help the audience! :-)
Characters at an Irish wake - Sail on Jimmy

Fantastic song by Albert Niland and of course beautifully covered by Christy Moore. Great for an aul sing song and gets everyone going as the chorus is very easy to pick up. When I'm singing this one I imagine myself as a fly on the wall, observing the goings on a a typical Irish wake, a tradition that started way back in pagan times!
For Ellen and Ava, may you stay Forever Young

A Bob Dylan classic - the song constantly reminds me of our wonderful daughters and how privileged I am to be a parent and to be here to watch them grow and flourish.
”Ride on John” - Ride On Christy

From the pen of the brilliant Jimmy Mc Carthy. After a chance meeting with a good pal of Christy Moore's in 2019, he very kindly obliged and managed to get the great man to sign my guitar on November 24th 2021 in Vicar Street, Dublin. Because of COVID I didn't get to meet the great man...maybe some day! What a great momento from a true legend! #rideon #vicarstreet
For the generations who took the boat - Missing You

Another Jimmy Mc Carthy great! The sadness and heartache of emigration, something we're used to in Ireland, "no dogs, or Irish", we disguised the loneliness and sadness by drinking too much and hitting out - didn't do ourselves any favours of course! No doubt deep inside we were suffering. Sad thing is today, we seemed to have forgotten what it's like not to be wanted in society - pity!
I'm never far from home - Motherland
มุมมอง 823 ปีที่แล้ว
Great song from Natalie Merchant. Christy has a fab version also. Love this song, it reminds me how we're always connected to our "Motherland" no matter where we find ourselves in life. As we decide to leave our Motherland we might convince ourselves that the place is not for us "don't miss this waste land, this horrible place when you leave". However, far away hills are not always greener and ...

Did you know that the Communists in the Soviet Union murdered 15,000,000+ Christians 3 years before your commie heroes tried to bring this terror to Spain?
