Compact Powerhouse or Just Hype? Nebula Capsule 3 Full Review
Thank you for this video. You sold it better than any other video's that I have seen. It will be installed on my Kruzer 8 that I ordered, soon. I was hesitant to add it for the price it cost, your explanation convinced me to pull the trigger. Keep up the good work.
Thanks! Have fun with your KRUZR we are loving ours still!
Ex-owner warning: Camino looks great but has serious issues. Had constant problems - poor build quality, defective windows/siding, electrical issues, frame noise, premature wear. For the premium price, quality and support were disappointing. Better options out there with more reliable brands.
Dude3; the tower storage on the back is where you stow the kids; dogs and pets go inside the living space; kids stay in the storage where they can do little harm
You said it 😂 not me
Great news about the ground wire!!!!! The fuel pumps are notorious for going out and costing 10k to replace the entire fuel system. When you guys go by Vegas we have a guy who specializes in Superdutys that can replace the fuel pump with the updated and bulletproof one fairly quickly and for a good price so that you don't have to worry about a 10k issue when the warranty runs out.
@@tonyshelton3744 oh great to know we will be there early December!
Did Ford cover it under warranty or did they decline because the rig has been altered?
Warranty still in use, only the suspension would not be covered. I asked when there 😁
Beautiful truck n great attitude when life gives you lemons
Thank you! 🙏
Glad you got it squared away. It is always an adventure living on the road!
And we love every bit of it!
Good call on the aftermarket deal. I had a Pedal Monster totally take out my instruments and dash and radio..... Thought it was a big deal, until I unplugged it........ Will be my first step in troubleshooting in the future! :)
Thanks, I figured it’s always good to start with the things you add from stock.
Glad you guys are all fixed up and back on the road. What was that jumper that you took out? Sounded like it had something to do with tire size. I have super singles and need to correct my speedometer. Thanks
We had a prototype of this bushel.biz/directdrive/tru-speed/ we now have the production version and it’s working great for speed correction!
Did you have them show you the bad ground? 19:59
13:55 I always carry a regular battery charger that does up to 15 amps. Use house batteries /inverter to charge truck batts! Truck Camper tip of the day!
A great tip for any day! And yea the ground was on the frame crossmember by the fuel tank.
“Way-in” vs Waiting 🤔
Best thing to do is hit the forums on this Diesel, there is so much to learn on keeping it going and reliable. #1, EGR filter & #2 there is a system that will protect the engine when the CP3 pump goes.
Oh yea, I went down the bulletproof diesel rabbit hole.
Glad it was simple , safe travels ~peace~ BTW , did you guys make it to baja winter months 2024 ?
We were there in Feb and planning to go back this January
@@ExploringStillConnected was there in feb thru mid april , Agua verde bout a week , loved la paz area , for a few weeks & bounced around . hope to head back this winter. ~peace~
See you in the road!
Sorry for these troubles, that's kind of the nightmare scenario with these setups. I have questions though ! 1. Why was Ford Service of no help ? They just gave up on you ? Why ? I am relying on them for towing, but...will they pay for the tow you got ? 2. What year is your truck and is it a diesel ? Was the fix covered under warranty ? 3. Why did you not ask the first tower to tow you to glenwood springs directly ? Or they would not do it ? I'm south of you, in Dolores :-)
Ford could not find a tow company within their umbrella that could tow us. We weight about 19.5k so the typical tow truck won’t give us a tow. We are still dealing with ford to cover the tow. Our truck is a 2023 and fix was covered. As for why the first company would now tow is, it was the weight issue.
@@ExploringStillConnected I'd be curious to learn if you guys decide to go with another type of roadside assistance. What was the weight limit Ford or the other tower could do ? I'm at 14.3k so wondering if I'd have more luck in your situation.
@PeteLeuenberger I’m not sure, I would just ask a local tow company and see what they say. Know I know I’m looking for big rigs 😂
It's always the smallest of details isn't it! Glad ya'll are okay. 🤙
You got that right, thanks!
Glad you found a fix. If you don’t mind me asking, how much was your super single 4x4 and what suspension did you go with?
Thanks! We went with the liquid spring package form Buckstop Truckware which starts around 37k and goes up from there. www.buckstopinc.com/single-wheel-conversion-f23.html they have conventional lifts too that start at 22k that are pretty dang sweet too!
I’m glad you’re okay!
Thanks Bill it was definitely an adventure to remember.
So glad it was such a simple fix. And good job making the best of it!
Simple is our favorit kind of fix! Now we know what to look for if this ever happens again.
@@ExploringStillConnected I love your interior. I ordered my '23 F550 with the Baja interior but was told by the time mine was on the assembly line they were only building Onyx black. Which I do like, but would have preferred your interior. It looks great!
@joz_tec thanks! We totally lucked out on that one as we were able to order off the 2022 build sheet. I hear there are only a few out there with our color combo.
@@joz_tec Dee is such a trouper too. Making lemonade with a smile!
Need to get those filters relocated and replaced with a better setup. Especially the secondary filter on top of the engine. It needs to be relocated under the truck. It becomes a fire hazard with age. Glad it was an easy fix though.
You are telling me, the whole time I was thinking the CP4 went out :D
@@ExploringStillConnected same here. Better get that CP4 replaced soon though. We don’t to watch a video of you stranded again with a potential $12-15k repair that won’t be covered by warranty.
🤣
That is rough. Glad you guys are ok!
Thanks! It was a wild ride to be sure!
I've been looking at the KTMs for a while. Ive also been looking for different trailer setups for a truck with a camper. I line Colorado Trailers but they're pricey. Ive found a few cargo trailers modified with e-track to accommodate 3 or 4 motorcycles. How are you planning on taking the motorcycle with your truck and camper ... a hitch carrier?
Right now we have a hitch carrier but it is sub optimal. The plan is to build a custom trailer to carry the bikes and some extra goodies for big expeditions.
While doing my research I found Myks Garage channel and I like a lot of the ideas in his trailer. th-cam.com/video/VGBeLCeAsaE/w-d-xo.htmlsi=IAyLn9aALLXzZUmf
How is the power in the truck driving at highway speeds with the lower HP diesel engine? Also, how has the stainless finish on the nose cap done so far cleaning up from bugs? Thanks in advance.
No issues on the nose cap, definitely feel the 19.5k lbs going down the road on acceleration. But still can cruise at 81 and 65 through mountain passes.
Is that the 8 foot or 6 foot model?
@@usmcshepherdE9 this is the 8’ model on a 11’ bed
@@ExploringStillConnected gotcha….thank you.
I might have missed this if you covered it in another video but was curious about what flat bed you went with?
@@usmcshepherdE9 it’s a eby flatbed
@@ExploringStillConnected gotcha…never heard of that one…will check it out
Despite their sleek look, the quality is poor. These things deteriorate far too fast, especially for the price. The craftsmanship is subpar, with poorly fitted components and flimsy woodwork that give a false sense of quality. Durability is lacking, and customer service is terrible. Save your money and choose a more reputable brand!
Those buses are pretty cool. They were refurbished a few years ago. Ford was/is refurbishing them all.
Yea I saw that, and now they run on propane. Definitely would be fun to have one someday 😍
Anytime you can visit Glacier and not have a lot of traffic is a good day. Been there a few times.
Great looking truck camper. Very capable. Love the metal work. Wood construction for the frame leave me concerned about water damage! Industry is moving away from wood and towards composites.
I like the fact that so far this is the only truck top camper I have seen, and believe me I have been looking for my perfect one and still have not found it, That actually foregoes the stupid black tank to go with the cassette toilet. Which is by far and away above and beyond better than dealing with a black tank, So what if I have to dump it a little bit more often at least there are 10 times more places to dump that thing than having to show up at 1 or 2 places in a big city or every RV park and pay for it. Although I do not like the design of their bathrooms in the king's start I like to have a fully enclosed space that I can close the door on not a curtain rod. I love their solution to the useless Dinette! The garage is amazing edition. As is the backs storage locker. However I do not like the fact that it is not a true 4 season camper if any part of the water line or water jugs are freezing because it gets cold it's definitely not a true Four season! The stainless steel construction is definitely unique to this trailer line the only other campers I see doing it is airstream. But it looks like there are so many scenes that have to be constantly sealed on this thing that that concerns me. Something like a northern light which is just a 2 piece bonded fiberglass shell has far less things to worry about with waterleakage than something like this. Another thing I dislike is how cheap the doors along the outside feel like I'd fall off at a moment's notice cause I looked at them wrong. For hit a bump in the road. What I'm drawn to the most right now is the Cirrus series camper. If they made one with a cassette toilet and got rid of the dinnette in favor of something like king Starr's doing they'd have me sold in a heartbeat. Can I probably add in later on One of those flat bed storage builds specific to truck campers. There's 2 different companies doing it and I cannot for the life of me remember their names off the top of my head.
Cheers 🍻
Very beautiful trucks but must to be made from iron infrontof not blastic and lights glass like old style
I love that place!!
That is the most genius truck camper bathroom design ive ever seen. Ive been dreaming of a kingstar camper for a while now, and hope one day i can pull the trigger on one. They really dont believe in wasted space and have figured out how to maximize that space to the fullest.
The one thing I don’t like about these campers is the open hanging rods in lieu of a closet. I do not like my hanging clothes out in the open collecting dust and smells from the kitchen.
Appreciate the constructive criticism, it helps a lot. For 2025 the KRUZR gets a closet door. It can be used as a hanger or storage closet since it has two adjustable or removable shelves.
If that change is being made, IMO, you just made this camper outstanding compared to everything else out there.
I love the bed campers but I’d like a cut pass through to the cab my only change so far
They do have the option to add a window on the front, works well with the truck windows and would allow kids and small pets to fit through.
It's great seeing you and Marcus with another camper build video. KingStar campers are pretty darn impressive; their innovation and attention to detail really are something. Thank you for another top shelf production! Kudos to your videographer, too.
Thanks Jim! We are always impressed with the new Kingstar offerings !
Love this short video. Curious how long is this beautiful rig from front bumper to back of camper box?
Just about 26’
I live half hour from there, do they allow e bikes?
Not sure on the formal rule but there are a lot there.
I applaud your ability and confidence to VLOG in a crowded event like no one is around. Great job on making me feel like I’m at the event from my couch.
@@TH-camuser0817 thank you I am glad you felt like you were there with us!
We carry a seperate 20lb LP tank for our fire pit. We keep it in the garage, taking it out when we use it.
We may end up doing similar soon
Same
Nice video guys.
Thanks Jim!
My only issue is the way it times out, i can charge my laptop, but it wont stay on if im using my laptop while plugged in.. it doesn't make sense, however i purchased it mostly to power my starlink mini, which it does
Great to hear it works for the starlink mini. I definitely noticed inconsistency in time out. Not sure what goes on there as it works for 6 hours one day then an hour another.
I really love your setup. How long is the truck bed?
11 ft
@@ExploringStillConnected nice. Your set up has me seriously considering doing something similar with a flat deck, truck camper and a garage area in between the cab and camper. I hit a deer coming back in Montana on my way back to Canada so this Class A motorhome might get written off. It's honestly way too big for just myself and my two cats. How long is the part of the truck camper that sits on the flat deck?
Next step on my Dakota is a solid axle swap and slap a manual transmission in. Sick build man
Thank you! You’re gonna love the solid axle swap!
Do you have a video on your truck - how you got it and what you had done to it to get it ready for a camper? Thanks!
Do you guys have that fixed to a flat bed? Are you using a zero torsion system?
Thanks for the video! Where do you store such a large spare wheel?
Any idea how long this will live in 132deg environments?
That’s still an awesome rig!
Hey Reyes. I visited you guys today at the Expo and you were talking about the Power Pro Onboard but didn’t really catch how you were utilizing that feature on your truck. We were kind of talking about the whole electrical system(solar, inverters, dc to dc charger, batteries, ect). Can you briefly tell me how you are using that feature. Once again thanks for the tour. I think the Kingstar is my choice.
Thanks for stopping over! We are using pro power as a charging system. It allows us to charge at around 1400 watts acting as shore power while the pro power is on. That is much faster than a 30 or dual 30 amp dc to dc charger. Happy to chat more tomorrow!
