I was on board the USS Midway 81-84. Used to love going up and watching flight ops whenever I got the chance. I have quite a few photos, but no video, as it was too expensive back then for a lowly sailor to afford, lol.

Being from Moloka'i and a frequent Waialua visitor, this is truly one of my favorite Hawaiian compositions. Right up there with Gabby's version of "Kaua'i Beauty", Eddie's "E Ku'u Morning Dew",and Aunty Genoa's "Alika". I also love Amy's "Hale'iwa. Shucks...I like anything Amy sings. If a beautiful voice is all it takes, I'm already in love...heh-heh.

@zensplash So how come you no can speak English, ha . . ? An interesting film. The two best lines are "Who you got waiting for you?" and "I thought I was alone again." Kayo will be missed, but she did her masterpiece, the film that will be timeless.

I think mifune is the guy wearing the light colored kimono riding the wagon "waving" the fan. He looks different from when he appears in samurai movies.

Picture Bride is a hidden gem one of my favorite films. First saw it at SIFF. The director was able to get the best actors and cinematographer to work on a shoe-string budget because the script was so powerful. There's a long list of sponsors at the end because everyone in Hawaii pitched in to bring the film to fruition. I later heard that the director drowned in a swimming pool accident, a real tragedy. I think this was only her first or second film and she did such a brilliant job.

Amy has one of the most beautiful voices I have ever heard. I have seen Amy and Willie K. perform live and they put on such a fun show. If you ever get the chance to see them, go. You'll have a great time.
