Glad to see the numbers are up to date. As for tens of millions of guns we (could) actually own? Not at all and there's where the misinformation starts clouding the minds of non owners. Canadians,living on the second largest continent in the world for the past 168 years have been spread far and wide over this land. Firearms are a MUST for so many who live outside cities and towns were they are on their own. I, like many other owners grew up in a family that also owned guns. I can not ever see them becoming outlawed because of the wide diversity of people who want them, need them and for many reasons. We have proven time and time again we legal gun owners are just regular folks too,abide by the laws and don't abuse them to harm. Proving that has helped keep the "gun community" in good standings and will for future generations.

one other thing. you do not need a separate license to buy ammo. and we do have the legal ability to carry a firearm for self defense. the problem, like was stated, is that the govt very rarely allows it.
