Yes, syndication funds are going to be hurt this year. In fact, my college classmates started a company that examines these funds and was quoted in The Real Deal saying "700M are in serious trouble." I personally would never touch one. This year, many LPs will be asked for more cash because of cash-in refis. They are difficult investments and really... if people are looking for freedom financially, is abdication of responsibility the way?
The recent jobs report doesn't help the people thinking the Fed will lower rates. It could still happen (and likely will), but probably not until a slowdown starts. For RE investors, this will push up existing prices.
