The world should consider the perspectives of Malaysian leaders such as Datuk Dr. Akmal Saleh and Tan Sri Abdul Hadi Awang on global geopolitical issues. Their profound insights provide a compelling vision for a brighter future, addressing both spiritual and practical dimensions.
The more I learn about the Chinese ,the more I love them.
Maybe don"t dream about other people's territories....This federalist propaganda is getting unbearable, we eastern europeans are tired of you western colonizers.
Wow! I am truly impressed. Great job, thanks
However, one translation mistake must be made clear! NO, the translation of Catholic 天主教 is not the religion of t”he law of Heaven”. 主is not law (or advocate) but “lord” of Heaven as the term was used to refer to their “master” by slaves. Yeo tried to manipulate the c words and hence the concept! Throughout the scripts and scrolls of Catholic Church, there are millions mentioning of “O Lord” or “Our Lord”. For example the Lord’s Prayer starts with “Our Lord in Heaven, holy be thy name, thy Kingdom comes⋯” That exactly why Catholic Church was translated as the religion of the Lord of Heaven or the Heavenly Lord. Nothing to do with law whatsoever!
Chinese culture is not "collectivist" like George is teaching here lol. In the Tao Te Ching, chapter 20, Lao Tzu teaches that following the crowd is foolish. And being different from other people is a virtue. Lots of individualism within Chinese spirituality, philosophy, and poetry.
Superb presentation. Thank you one and all who made this conversation possible and available. A privilege to experience. Best wishes.
Bear in mind China is not so stupid.as to attack taiwan.Frm Brig george yeo has spoken many yrs ago abt the.attack China will.ponder many times if attack on taiwan.US will not interfere if taiwan is being attack
Mr. Yeo is absolutely correct that CPC is interpreting Communism in Chinese own culture. Perhaps that was one of the reason Mao deviated from what USSR tried to dictate China “their way or no way”. In Liji (or the Book of Rites) which Confucius and his students edited, there is a chapter that most Chinese students learned and memorized. “When this grand road map prevails, the World shall be for everyone. Upright and capable persons shall be selected to govern, everyone honours his promises and strives for harmony relations. Thus, man will not only cherish his own kins but other’s too; he will treat other’s children in the same way as treating his own, aiming at elderlies are looked after, strength are put to proper use, youth are properly raised. Widowers and widows, the singles and handicapped are all properly looked after. Men and women all have their roles serving the communities. Nobody will pick and hide things lost by others as it’s a shameful act. Nobody will take advantages because they didn’t contribute their effort earning it. There won’t be plots and crimes as plotters will be stopped, and there won’t be robbers and thieves either. There is no need to lock the main entrance at night. This is the Da Tong (Great Common) Society.” Chinese had that vision long before Karl Marx and Lenin. I believe that Chinese intellects in late Qing Dynasty were prone to accept Marxism because they found the common ideals with traditional Chinese culture. Chinese don’t find the term “commune” and hence “communism” negative or offensive because archaeologist discoveries of ancient habitats sites reveal that Chinese civilization started with commune societies/groups.
Thumbs up
Congratulations, Shriya! Your World Bank internship journey is truly inspiring. So proud of your achievements and can’t wait to see what you do next!

Whole lecture without scripts and teleprompter. Wow. That’s actually how Lee Kwan Yew lectured too. Proud of being a Singaporean.
The US mafia state has gone too far! Way way too far!

Hi George, The last King was not from Han Clan, but Manchoo.
Ukraine is not a soverign country since the colour revolution. It is a US colony.
I watched twice to understand better. Interesing with historical facts
China has an idiom called 学贯中西 'well-versed in the learning of both Chinese and Western cultures,' and Yeo is such a scholar and visionary politician who understands the politics and logic of the Western world, while also having a profound understanding of Chinese Confucian thought and culture.

Wow, there's the transcript too. Thks.
As a Chinese, I admire his vision and ability to clearly express Chinese culture in a way that westerners could understand.
inspiring take on many issues close to asean and the attempt to bridge understanding between west and east is commendable and should be shadowed by other leaders towards a just world. for my small part, i will post shorts of this video in my non profit yt channel

If you understand why US said that no genocide in Gaza, then you understand why they can see genocide in XinJiang
WTF? China has no diversity? By whose standards is the speaker using?
There is no doubt about that Europe and China emmensly benefit out of this bonhomie. May this comradiary flourish and bring in prosperity to every one.
Having being a member of UN peace keeping forces in Cypros back in 1967-68 I agree on all his points.
Europe doesn't need China.
Really? You think so?
And Karen is teaching the rest of the world to sing...
Philippines must asked Marco junior about why he support USA,because of his father wealth in US
What an intellectual Mr. Yeo is.
These people need to learn how to be short n concise with their questions.
Scary some of the questions, the echo chamber in Europe and the lack of ability to find different perspective even after the thought provoking speech. And these are suppose to be top brains. A much needed wake up call by Georfe Yeo to shake away the cobwebs.
Thank goodness for a few europeans who were open-minded to attend this eye-opening lecture to know more about China. It's a shame that China's offers of the Confucious Institutes for learning and understanding of China were shut down by the U.S. fear mongering calls. Now, the West mainly learns a glimpse about today's China through Western TH-camrs traveling in China.
Everything fail for a reason.....smart and wise singaporean for the elections
As always he talks so well. It would have been better if he had considered China in a more critical light. Xi Jinping's increasing authoritarianism. Also their extensive cyber hacking exploits. Perhaps too the expansionism in the South China Sea, grabbing from the economic and fishing zones from the Philippines and Vietnam. Taiwan has become a different Country. It is for the Taiwanese to decide their fate. Not the U.S. not China. They have seceded and when one sees the fate of Hong Kong despite Chinese undertakings to preserve it as as a region with additional democratic freedoms, then Taiwanese should not be forced, or abandoned ito that repression which is foreign to them. And, perhaps too its efforts to develop a Chinese hegemony in the South East. Only by understanding this too will we ever be able to untangle these unhappy relations.
An ass himself
After listening to a few speeches by George Yeo, I slowly realised how smart and insightful he is. No wonder he was an Air Marshall and later a diplomat. Excellent speech!
The president doesnt have that much power, your views tell how much people care about him, he lives in westend which is richest part of europe and will tear this country apart
(1:08:13) On 3-23-2024 Hong Kong 's Article 23 regarding National Security will come into effect. In this Q&A segment from May-23-2023 George Yeo offered a prescient answer regarding "independence" and "secession" which are central to the projects of stirring up Colour-Revolution. Much has changed since Margaret Thatcher and Deng Xiaoping issued the joint communique about Hong Kong. Therefore there is not a chance that China will allow Taiwan to keep its own military force or run its own foreign affairs after reunification.
A transcript of the keynote speech is available on the STG web site. It covers many more topics.
Great Speech.
one way to solve the Gaza issue. announce it as a part of China. then the Western world will care about them, as the only kind of Muslim Western world care about, Chinese Muslim!
