    While fermenting a grain and sugar mash to make alcohol I had the idea to run my grain mash through an ultrasound to decrease particle size to make the grain mash more bioavailable to the yeast. The results were incredible. I am wondering if you can also try this on a grain mash and measure the results between the ultrasound mash and a control. I did a very short clip showing my bubbler and fermentation bucket. th-cam.com/video/xlaGz_3mKhU/w-d-xo.html After this I tried a sugar wash through the ultrasound unit but it did not seem to increase the rate at all. Probably because the dissolved sugar was already at it's smallest size. It did seem to point to the fact that the yeast did better with the smaller particle grain mash than it did with the sugar wash. I really would like to see someone do more testing and research on this as it could have a huge impact in several fields like fuel and space travel. That and I like the idea of giving back to the yeast something it likes for its centuries of service to humankind. #Yeast lives matter. I would love a reply with your thoughts. Been working on soil and foliar fertilizers and making them more bioavailable to the plant microbiology and cell wall penetration. #Nano Nano

      Yes, you can fit a 10, 20, or 30" in the 30" housing.

    Question: We just crushed a white wine grape, Viognier, and plan to start out with Prelude after settling. Routinely, we added 50 PPM SO2. I now see that Prelude recommends a limit of 30 PPM. Am I still OK? Can I add more Prelude than recommended to compensate?

    Great presentation. The only thing that is a very distracting is defining the filtration as CROSSFLOW. It is MICROFILTRATION operated in crossflow mode instead of, for example, dead-end mode. MF, UF, NF & RO are all operated in various modes, crossflow mostly and only sometimes in dead-end.

    Great presentation. Just a suggestion....when someone is the audience asks a questions can you restate it on mic? I think there was some good info on water quality at the end but I couldn't hear it.

    Question on the ratios. The label on the yeast says 1 packet (I assume 500 grams) of yeast into 1.5 gallons of water. In the video, you measure 50.1 grams of yeast into 0.1 gallons of water. Doesn't that ratio imply 500 grams (1 packet) into 1.0 gallons (not the 1.5 the label calls for)?

    If the sugar levels in my must are targeting 15% and I use Prelude instead of my traditional yeast for the 1st 48 hours, what is my new target level for alcohol when my wine has completed total fermentation?
