    Wear is selling out, the evidence after Dobbs within states has proved the opposite yet he wants to sound a warning to justify voting for anyone but Trump, evidence by his lack of credit for supreme court justices appointed by Trump who handed down the Dobbs decision. He goes on to cast doubt on one issue voters as not thought out, trying to disguise his personal dislike for Trump and his evangelical supporters. One has to question Wear if he is sincere in his overall long term assessment of where this will lead or is he trying to sway evangelical voters. His compromise on abortion speaks for itself, I suggest everyone do due diligence in reading for yourself.

It all becomes arbitrary based on the current moral climate, the spirit of the age. I'm afraid hypocrisy and moral relativism presents itself in all of us, even in our better theologians.

    This is Heiser's distorted and erroneous theology. The "gods" in Psalm 82 are not divine beings. How do we know? Because the immediate context tells us. Nowhere in the entire Bible do "gods" judge humans unjustly, so that God now has to judge them. Human judges are described in Psalm 82 based on the immediate context of that Psalm. We know that humans were called "elohim" meaning judges because of passages like Exodus 21:6 and Exodus 22:8-9. Right now I am interviewing the author of the book "The Unbiblical Realm: Refuting the Divine Council of Michael Heiser’s Deuteronomy 32 Worldview." We both came to similar conclusions without knowing each other before, and he cites others who also take issue with Heiser's theology. This is not rocket science here. Heiser simply misread several passages. Case in point. I have heard him say that Deut. 32:8 where he takes as original the reading "Sons of God" instead of "sons of Israel," is related to Deut. 4:19. He then argues that Deut. 4:19 is speaking of "heavenly beings." But anyone reading the immediate context of Deut. 4 starting from verse 15 down to 19 will see the clear reference to God warning against IDOL worship, not worship of any alleged "divine beings." No, Moses is talking in that context about the problems with idol worship of different kinds, and when we get down to verse 19, the flow of thought continues as God warns against a different kind of idol worship, the worship of heavenly bodies, the "sun, moon and stars, all the host of heaven." So one of his key passages he got grossly wrong. The fact that Heiser missed this simple truth from the immediate context speaks volumes, and it also speaks to how people can be blinded by a theology that they can't see the obvious. Deut. 4:19 is not speaking about any kind of real "gods" or "divine beings." God there is warning against idolatry, man made idols (carved images per vs. 16), and idols people could make of heavenly bodies.

    • @AndrewC4
      @AndrewC4 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      My brother in Christ..."elohim" is used over 2,500 times in the Hebrew scriptures. It *always* refers to spiritual beings: God, the false gods of the nations and idols made for them, and even the disembodied spirit of Samuel at the witch of Endor. The KJV translates "elohim" to "judges" only 10 times out of the 2500+ occurrences. All 10 times, "God" or "spiritual beings" or "gods" would make better sense than human judges. Remember, the KJV isn't the inspired word. The original text is. To your point about idol worship not being about spiritual beings...what else do you think idols represent? False spiritual beings. I don't know how much more obvious that could be. Golden calves, statues of Dagon, Asherah pillars, matztzebah to Baal - all idols representing the false gods. And in regards to worship of heavenly bodies...the gods of the nations were represented by creatures and heavenly bodies. I'd encourage you to continue digging deeper and to take the data in good faith.

    • @CRoadwarrior
      @CRoadwarrior 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@AndrewC4 Thanks for your response. However, you apparently assume a few things based on Heiser's theology. In the immediate context of Exodus 21:6, it is simply not true that "God" or "spiritual beings" or "gods" makes better sense. And surely that doesn't apply to Exodus 7:1 where "elohim" is a clear reference to the very human Moses! Idol worship may have spirit beings behind them, but that is beside the point. This is especially true when we remember how Yahweh referred to idols in Isaiah 44:9-20. So no, we cannot be blindsided or duped by Heiser's sophistry. He distorted many Bible passages to arrive at his flawed conclusions, and it's a sad commentary on the state of Bible literacy that people have followed this man's theology blindly. I have indeed dug deeper, and found that Heiser's theology has serious problems.

    • @AndrewC4
      @AndrewC4 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@CRoadwarrior ironically, the KJV gets it right in Exodus 7:1 - "See, I have made thee a god (elohim) to Pharaoh: and Aaron thy brother shall be thy prophet." Yahweh's deliverance of Israel out of the hands of Egypt was supernatural. "...against all the gods (elohim) of Egypt I will execute judgment: I am Yahweh." I guess we have to fundamentally agree to disagree. When arguing your points, I'd really encourage you to not use terms like "duped and distorted" the Bible, or that people "blindly" follow his argumentation. The data are the data. We can disagree on its interpretation, but stick with the text, not assumptive, ad-hominem language.

    • @CRoadwarrior
      @CRoadwarrior 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@AndrewC4 I am well aware of the arguments, but my use of "duped" and "distorted" accurately depicts what has happened. So they are not ad hominem. The data has been distorted and misread. Heiser misread Psalm 82, conflated it with Psalm 89 from a different context, and also misinterpreted Deut. 32:8,9, and Deut. 4. Misreading and distorting the data means you will come to the wrong conclusions. This is what Heiser did, and it is sad that very few have called him to the carpet on it. But many people have, and many are now waking up out of the Heiser slumber. I would suggest you watch the video series "The UnBiblical Realm: Refuting Michael Heiser's Divine Council w/Heath Henning." We investigate all the problems with Heiser's theology.

    Im looking for help. I used to do meth and on Halloween one year i was high and invited in the demonic. I tried to sell my soul twice. But i believe in Jesus. Ive been baptized. My heart belongs to Jesus. But now i have voices that talk to me all day. Telling me i sold my soul that i blasphemed the holy ghost that im going to hell. Im sober im not doing drugs. @apolloswatered 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I am glad you have come to know Jesus, but I am sorry that you are still hearing those horrible voices. Here's what you need to do. #1. Confess your sin to God (1 John 1:9). You must confess that sin of inviting this demonic presence into your life. Say, "Lord, I admit that I invited this demonic presence into my life, Lord, please forgive me." #2. Cancel the permission. You must then cancel the permission that you have given to that demon. Say, "I now cancel any permissions of any demonic entity that is in my life. I may have given that permission once, but by the authority of Jesus, I cancel that permission now." #3. Command the demon(s). Then you command that demonic presence to leave. Say, "I command in the name of Jesus who came in the flesh that any and all evil spirits, with all schemes and attachments, go to wherever Jesus sends you." #4. Commit the now-regained ground to the Lord. Say, "I commit the territory in. myself that was previously held by the enemy to You, Holy Spirit. Create in me a clean heart that I may have a flag of Your cross planted in this area now." The evil one is a liar, the father of lies, and an accuser. But He has no power whatsoever against Jesus. He will use all kinds of schemes to intimidate, harass, or lie to you to get you to do what you want. There may be one demon or many depending on the entity. Start with the above and if you need more. I would recommend checking these out: deeperwalk.com/ministry-referrals/

    In some ways - I really agree with and appreciate NTs vision of how things ought to work and think this approach would have worked well in the last century - but his approach or application of biblical principles doesn’t seem to offer solutions in the darkening age I. Which we live. I don’t see how his approach handles the apostasy and relative truth and LGBT assault on Christianity not does he make it plain how we should best deal with a world of politics that has become a complete fraud. What is his reaction to the plandemic of 2020 and the WEF global takedown and the coming antichrist system that is being assembled all around us in this technocracy that will soon be a control grid for Satan. Christianity has answers to this but endless discussion and attempting to live as an example is Not the whole of the answer. And indeed there are spiritual forces behind it all . Where is the place to call out evil and call a spade a spade. Calling out dark spiritual forces that are attacking God’s people and inverting his ways?

It is the democrats who have put same sex porn books into elementary schools, I this the democrats who are turning children against their parents with trans-mutilation of CHILDREN UNDER AGE 18. THE COMMUNISTS STOLE AMERICA from "We The People" back in 1871 when they created US CORPORATION WITHOUT being rattified! Feminism is a marxist ideology as is planned parenthood (where aborted fetuses are harvested and sold to the highest bidder) I have spent years (with the help of the Holy Spirit guiding me every step of the way) researching history on what is truly going on. I can say this, we have ALL been deceived by Satan and his minions for CENTURIES. President Trump was BORN to help us all. I am VERY confident that Jesus Christ is leading Trump every step of the way. My Lord and Savior is Jesus Christ and Trump is leading Heavenly Father's Earthly Military in order to SAVE OUR CHILDREN FROM CHILD TRAFFICKING! 45-47 THE Dash stands for COG/COOP/MO. Proof is in the Federal Registries and Derek Johnson on Rumble. Queen Elizabeth Capitulated to the US because of what President Trump HAS on the royals and so much more. Every wonder WHY? Evil runs deep. Only through Christ will we find salvation and eternal life. In Jesus name we pray that those still blinded by Satan's minions' lies and gaslighting, that Father will shine His Glorious Light on us all that we will see everything that is True and false, and give us Divine Discernment to know, without a shadow of a doubt, the difference between Right and wrong. And so it is, Hallelujah

    I appreciate this interview very much and hear a lot of wisdom from NT Wright, but he is good at articulating his arguments for what the church should do but he sidestepped the question you asked about when a believer shoild engage in civil disobedience. What are the issues where there should NOT be unity and scism or division is the preferable and dare I say biblical thing to do? Or would he argue there is no such red line or issue ?

    For the “true and actually real” Christian, it is a fact that we work from the inside out and not the outside in. It is true that the world and culture work to shape us but the child of God as a product of God’s salvation works first to strengthen the inner man and feed the spirit which in turn is able to correctly assess the world around us and orient our lives to it n our walk with Christ. In short, it still comes down to an inner decision (first)as to how to order our outward life…If you are describing the dangers facing “baby” Christians who might fall into some of these “dangerous” habits, would not a Heavenly Father be working in His providence to care for His child until he is able to walk on his own? He is able to present us faultless and blameless in that day…

      That's an interesting thought. Just for a bit of clarification and to make sure that we understand. Is it that people aren't asking questions about embodiment? Or is there another question do you think that people are not asking? What questions do you think that folks are asking?

    • @happyharryp
      @happyharryp 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@apolloswateredno one is asking why people are not “embodied”, but if you were to ask, “Do you think that people participating in dis-embodiment through addiction to devices are causing church population fallout”…now that might draw some attention. It was also a running inside joke from my wife who accuses me of offering answers to questions no one is asking. That, unfortunetly, is the problem with people and intellectual pursuits.

    You lost me with your picture of "Will Smith." Your question matters not when you use "the world" in attempting to attract Christians to your video. Very sad

      I am going to disagree on that one with you. The world is the desires of the flesh, the desires of the eyes, and the pride of life (1 John 2:15-17). I am not sure that simply having a photo of Will Smith qualifies.

    Why in the world would you bring the "world" into this video before even starting it? I'm talking about the filthy mouth Hollywood actor comedian Kevin Hart. Why do many of today's Christian leaders feel the necessity to get their point across with worldly unbelieving actors, so-called celebrities, sports "heroes" etc.. That is not being a leader! It is quite the opposite! You would do well to take this video down until you correct it and get out of the world! You have that same responsibility to those you teach and preach to! Lead them out of the world!

    When I learned the correct interpretation of Revelation.. ALL of my confusion from dispensationalism was IMMEDIATELY cleared up. Believing in that teaching causes mental illness. That is what I believe I saw in the spirit. It causes people to believe lies and conspiracy theories and demands a spirit of fear😢 It is dangerous for this country. As a 68 yrs old woman i know for a fact that we've already grown from out of a fascist leaning country since the early 1900's. May God help us.

    Travis, I’ve been tuning in from time to time and still see your numbers are just not taking off…giving this much thought and am wondering if it’s due to your approach as the host. From my radio broadcasting classes in college, I remember our classes on doing an interview. My opinion would be that you might want to do some studies on How to be an interesting and effective interviewer. Your podcasts just seem to be lacking in this respect and just don’t seem to be drawing people in…me included. Hopefully this comes across as helpful and not critical.

      Harry, thank you for your comment and recommendation. We have gone back and forth as a team on the nature of things, which may be one of the factors at work, perhaps the most glaring. This specific interview you commented on is from two years ago when we didn't have a TH-cam channel and we are just now catching up and getting old content out (this is the last of our old content, so the newer stuff is decidedly different in style), so that maybe one of the other factors at work (putting out old content that is less in quality, style, specific direction, and for my interviewing style). Along with the interview format/type, there are other factors at work (SEOs, marketing, the platform itself, clear direction, more of an intellectual audience, professionalism, etc.). But your point is made and that is something we are going to keep looking into. We want to get the best content out to help the church at this critical moment, and if my approach is not working, well, we want to change that. Thanks for watching and commenting!

    Nik, why ever do you call buildings in America 'the house of God'? Aren't the only objects called 'house of God' in the Scriptures - the tabernacle (tent)? - the Jerusalem temple? - the bodies of believers? - the gathered believers?

    Many fall into this category. Mark 4 18 And these are they which are sown among thorns; such as hear the word, 19 And the cares of this world, and the deceitfulness of riches, and the lusts of other things entering in, choke the word, and it becometh unfruitful.

    My parents served as missionaries for over 50 years had no retirement plans and after they were forced retired at 75 by the mission they survived on Social Security and one or two churches, me, and a couple relatives who continued to support. When my mom passed her social security additional income was cut from my dad's income. Dad was renting and just forced to leave the house he was living in and is having trouble finding affordable housing. The problem is real. I don't live near his church or support circle so he didn't want to move. I'm single and have a one bedroom apartment and work from home so I couldn't take him as I don't have room and he's a fall risk.

      It is a very real problem and one that many people do not talk about. In one of the churches I served, we actually increased the money to our missionaries after they came off the field in retirement. We knew that others were dropping them, but that they probably didn't have much. We were right. There were so many missionaries just like your parents. You are in a very painful and difficult place.
