I think it helps to move the camera slightly when you're crossing a street to see the side a bit so that the viewer doesn't feel like they're crossing blind. Also great going traversing that snow at 36:00 to make a metaphor - makes cool footage sometimes imo

The snow was deeply piled up, but I forced myself to walk. I had walked there before, so I was fine. However, I would not recommend it to others as it is covered in snow.

Hi, what is that structure to the right @ 12:50?
I think it is reversing plows etc., given that the road is too narrow and hazardous for three point turns-particularly in winter!. Probably; there is a washroom and a hut to have a cup of tea for the snow removal guys up there. I have skied at Gassan-never been to this particularly community. That particular road is likely all season but very narrow with many tunnels-so that is where you go the other way and take a break/have a snooze in the cab.
That is a spiral bridge called the Hijiori Hope Bridge. It is the entrance to the Hijiori Hot Springs, accessible only by car or bus.

This time it seems to be after the rain has melted much of the snow, so I will go back when there is even more snow piling up.

The statue at 28:01 is called Konohanasakuyahime. Konohanasakuyahime (Princess Konohanasakuyahime) was an immensely beautiful woman who bloomed as gorgeously as the cherry blossoms and then fell as fleetingly as the cherry blossoms. She is the epitome of a goddess of beauty and beauty-less life. She is honored as the most beautiful goddess in Japanese mythology.
