This is possibly my favorite sequence of Fantasy High, Fabian getting way in over his head and everyone else absolutely incapable of helping him, meta-gaming be damned. The first and only use of Quadruple Disadvantage in history. Oh boy. All content belongs to Dropout, I just really needed this comp in my life S2 EP6 Fantasy High
Arthur Aguefort is just biblically accurate Dumbledoore.
"I have realized long ago that the heart and soul of magic is having a good time." You'd expect that to come from a Bard, but it's far more potent from a Wizard.
zac asks the question with unbelievable john mulaney energy
I always have to go back to this clip to watch Ally Beardsley act out getting dragged
Chungledown Bim's twin brother, Chungledown Jim
I need a Dropout subscription so bad, this is so funny! Curse my financial situation!
So weird to see Allie with long hair
this has to be my absolute favourite lou outfit. he looks so good here
that moment when you realize heat regulation in the legs is a real bird trait
"Can I help" "Absolutely not. In fact, 5 damage."
thank you i’ve been looking specifically for this clip to hear lou laugh 😭😭
Arthur Augefort is insane and I love it
I never noticed before that when everyone else is saying "Run!" Murph and Emily, the most experienced players, actually bit their tongue. Dope interaction
The funny thing about this is that Fabian literally could have told the story of being in Prison and beating the shit out of his dad. Like he took his healthy father in a fist fight.
Always funny when Lou gets possessed by his own laughter
Now *THIS* is roleplaying
Lou just sat there the whole time like "at least I'm not the only chaoticly impulsive idiot (affectionate) at this table"
I HAVE BEEN LOOKING FOR THESE VIDEOS SINCE I FINISHED THE SEASON!! THANK YOU!!!
I'm just scanning through this and rewatching a few bits and pieces and still I'm overcome by tears again. Such a beautifully told emotional story. A masterclass in improv oral storytelling.
Hearing laughter explode out of Lou is incredible.
The Ally Beardsley Nat 20 Parade aka Fuck You Brennen, Fuck You Like It’s Game Changer
I'm like... at episode 3 ,and the principal did like... 3 things but that sounds EXACTLY lice him
The handaxe could've gone very poorly given the speed and velocity. That nat 1 could've meant the axe slipped out of his hand and when right into Fig's face if she was behind him.
Quadruple advantage/disadvantage needs to be a thing for 5e. It works as assistance and mercy as well as punishment for too many schenanigans.
What an arc! Fabian really became the greatest character.
I can’t believe I started this series like “a fucking bird? Ok.” And by the end was saying “A fucking bird. OK 🫡”. He became my favorite more and more with every scene he showed up in.
alternatively titled: fabian fucking around and finding out
Why has no one animated this or Arthur sneaking into heaven 😂😂
This is... and always will be... one of the greatest examples of characters facing the consequences of their actions. I can't quite recall a moment in my own game experience anything has felt worse to watch than Fabian choosing to attack Whiteclaw.
I can. I set up the perfect situation to do maximum damage to a dude straight out of Warhammer. My gunslinger centaur had used vines growing from under his wrists from being the faewild’s champion to fasten the dagger that killed the princess he was sworn to protect to a broken spear. She ritually sacrificed herself to save to forest (imagine The Mandolorian after Grogu dies that way). I set this shit up perfectly, lunge with advantage from a balcony, and roll a 19. He caught me in the air, broke my back (the horse one) over his knee like Bane, and threw me on the floor to taunt my party. I made it out, and then the fey court goes, “great scouting mission, ready to go in with SOME of our army?” At that moment I retired the character at level 15. He pulled the fey gifted vines out of his arms at the root, tossed them on the ground, threw his musket on his back and said, “If any among you grows tired of this inept court, you have a home at Castle Eldred.” (I’d won a castle as a reward for being their champion). It canonically became a anarchist socialist commune and shelter for the lost.
Matt is a god damn treasure
The comedic narrative of everyone else facing world shattering revelations and mortal danger, just to hard cut to Gunnie on a waiting line to buy candy without coms or line of sight to anyone else, is absolutely the sort of thing I'd expect from an scripted show and I cannot believe it was decided by one random decision by Lou and a few rolls of dice. I was dying the whole time. One of my favorite seasons to date
For some reason, this is my favorite arc in the history of ever
I swear to god, Arthur Aguefort is the embodiement of D&D Shitpost. He's the youtube poop of D&D
Sam quietly crying is so harrowing
Also, let’s applaud Brennan for keeping himself composed to tell the story. Even as the storyteller, he was rooting for Cerrit and the kids. I wouldn’t have blamed him for taking a few minutes to compose himself through tears.
I just love the moment with the ring. Just watching everyone’s reactions to it. From Marisha and Abria wincing, to Lou just turning away, to Travis realizing that he has indeed told a lie to set off his own magical device. Just *chef’s kiss*. I LOVE it so much!
A love the fan theory that Marisha mentioned in the Cast Round Table: That the Agrupnin family, being detectives and scientists, along with Patia's Sphere of Knowledge, founded the Cobalt Soul.
Also recall her character’s name. Patia Porco. CO as in CObalt Soul?
@@jacobgalloway1392 I highly doubt that Patia's name has anything to do with the Cobalt Soul.
@@Hey-Its-Dingo Well, Cerrit would know who sent both the library and the sphere to his daughter.
Ronin Willingham is a wonderfully blessed child to have Travis as his father. Travis gets it. This may be role play, but it’s clear that he get it.
Arthur Aguefort is the wizard version of Rick Sanchez and nothing will ever convince me otherwise
Nah, Arthur is psychotic, Rick is more sociopathic
I think it’s funny how that inspiration is just the main role in the final part. With reliable talent and a +21 to the role, he couldn’t have failed that final check. He couldn’t have escaped without the others in the ring
I really need to resubscribe to dropout
Yes you do! Brennan is about to be a player again in another Aabria-DM’d campaign
If that sending stone had been destroyed by the tree…
Thankfully that wasn't physically possible. Cerrit was far away from the tree when it exploded.
This was the perfect bittersweet ending to this incredible story
I'd literally just watch Brennan making a full backstory for Arthur Aguefort with the voice and reading that for however long with him interacting with other characters and shit lol.
incredible example of the biggest pro for theater of the mind combat
Greatest example is when the mountain sized aguefort grabs the sun out of the sky while summoning a terracotta army
@@normak7041Iii fucked up. I fucked up. It's bad. It turns out you can't grab the sun
This is when I fell in love with chaotic chaotic alignment Arthur Auguefort
Me holding this scene like a baby and swaddling it into my lich protagonist
Brennan leaping and then the video ends is incredible
What a title
I guess you could call that empty nest syndrome.
I don't think I'll ever not cry when that last part comes around. What a fucking story.
Gawd it's a terrible day for rain.
Wow that is an excellent obscure pull well done
