Godefroid - Etude de concert
Dearest Listener,
How delighted I am to upload a new video for your enjoyment. This composition was composed by Felix Godefroid; a Belgian harpist and composer. This piece is originally written for the harp; however, I do not know how to play the harp, so I decided to create my own arrangement for the piece. I studied the original score, and did my best to make sense of the music and see how it would translate to being played on the piano. There are some things that the piano cannot do such as playing harmonics which is a feature that is unique to the harp; that being said, this rendition will not be able to recreate a performance similar to a harp but rather a new performance.
I first discovered this piece in the fall of 2016 and heard it for the first time on TH-cam by a performance given by the Israeli harpist Noa Gabay th-cam.com/video/nhPIoJvhrQs/w-d-xo.htmlfeature=shared; listening to her play left an indelible impression on me that had me coming back time and time again re-experiencing the feelings that this music elicits from my heart. In the winter of 2021, the idea came to me that I should try and figure out how to play this piece on the piano(since I can’t play the harp). I began this project in 2022 with many inconsistencies; it was not until the fall of 2023 that I stayed consistent with actualizing this project to its completion. As of now it is late spring, the last day of May 2024. Here is the final presentation of this musical adventure into the world of harp music. I have grown so much and feel enriched through this artistic endeavor. It is my wish that this music touches your heart in a beautiful and meaningful way that I myself was touched by it years ago when I first heard it.
Thank you for taking the time to listen, be well in all of your ways and I look forward to sharing another recording in the future.
With the deepest of sentiments,
Adonis

Bach Invention No. 4 in D minor

Practicing some Bach this morning. My piano has clanky sounding keys so I apologize if that bothers you. But I just wanted to share something. It has been a while since I have posted anything here on TH-cam. So I hope you all enjoy this short Invention by Bach. These pieces were composed to help Bach teach his children to become familiar with contrapuntal writing in music. Bach’s music is compl...

This is my favorite Etude Tableaux by Rachmaninoff. This was published posthumously so it was separated from the others during its inception. I am so great-full that this Etude was discovered because it's my doorway into the higher realms. Share this with your friends and family members and let them be touched by Rachmaninoff's story. Prelude in F# major (Contrast)

Adonis Pedrialva plays his own Prelude in F# major This prelude represents the contrast in all of our lives. Throughout the course of life we experience moments, circumstances, and events that are undesirable, because of the contrast a new preference for what is desired is now born. Thus, we begin to shift our attention to the direction of what is wanted. In doing so we learn about who we are a...

@theartist5844 my daughter that has been a pianist for about 18 years told me it's not the piano keys that are loud, it's the level of skill in finger control. When I first began playing...during my first couple of years..I couldn't play her piano...it was so LOUD! I never enjoyed playing it... but was always baffled how she played it with lighest piano...pianissimo...etc. now I have been playing more years, I realize it was me...not the piano! I will listen again later.

@@keys6 You are referring to musical dynamics. The issue that the individual was speaking about was the percussive noise because the actual keys are rubbing against one another creating a *clicking* sound that you can hear permeate in this recording.

I'm learning this piece right now and can confirm it's REALLY REALLY tough...nice job here. How long have you played the piano (are you studying it somewhere?) and how long did it take you to learn this? It's so easy to get lost in this one...I don't think any piece has captivated me as much as this one has, in terms of both listening to it and practising it. It has so many layers and recurring themes brilliantly stacked on top of each other as it goes on.
