Kai Winding played a Giardinelli mouthpiece, around 12C size, but not an Almont.

The sound too me ranges between a non-edgy soft tone to the sound of those kazoo sounding trombone one's we used to get as kids 70 years ago at the Wringling Bros Circus (when ever faster air is applied, but in this synthesized and electronic age I suppose it would have its place...**

That’s a euphonium

Still available?
Still available 11 years later :p
dayumm sounds really cool especially the arabic esque chromatic walk ups
Sorry, that is NOT the Cavalry charge. Jeez.
sounds like its muted not a solid sounding trombone. Sounds very subdued. Asking starting price is too much for this horn $3,250. Let's face we're Trombone Players and being one hasn't made me rich. I know its said but regular Jack & Jill trombone players can't afford it. Good luck selling to only the handful and well to do's.
This video was shot on a vocal mic hooked into an iPhone. If you want to make judgements about the instrument, you really need to hear it live. Most pro level instruments cost in the same range as well. This is very much a working trombonist instrument. Being a trombone player and being rich have nothing to do with each other. Being rich has to do with managing finances and investing smartly. Playing trombone at a pro level has to do with practice and routines.
I'm no expert but the resonance of brass is completely absent to my ear. It is dry and without character. Not something I will be investing in.
I recorded this with close mic and in a dry environment. If you hear one of these trombones in a Hall, they sound very much like the brass version of the instrument.
Just found you today! Looking forward to more.

Now they’re just a mechanized division. Should have stayed Air cav and made 101 something else
Amazing!!
How ya feelin’, Jimmy? Like a mean motherfucker, Sir.
My uncle sgt Robert tilley was alive in 65. One of the first in the nam. Still with us today glad he survived.
Wow
You have a nice sound!
muito bom
ok i was looking for ways to sorta hack into the software for the my pal scout models this is gold and you did too good
Bravo! 👋 Good job! 👍
My brother was with the 1st Cav. in Viet Nam 1971.
Traded in their horses for choppers and went tearing around ‘Nam…..
Air Cav 1st of the 9th!
I just discovered that playing a Bach 42G with a brass slide instead of a nickel silver slide makes a huge difference. I favor the brassy sound with the richness of overtones. I dont think a carbon fiber instrument does the job for me.
Wow
What kind of mouthpiece are you playing on? I'm guessing 7C or 12C. Also, is that large, medium or small bore?
My algorithm is onto something
I came for Freedom Was not disappointed
The US has stopped invading foreign nations that pose no threat to our Constitution? When did this happen?
@@jasonm949 Ok let’s run the list yah racist Grenada: Literally asked to be invaded, completely professional and justified by its people and neighbors Panama: Dictator and terrorist attack, don’t touch the worlds second most important canal, don’t find out Iraq: Warned dozens of times over years, Hitler copycat invaded another nation knowing dam well he was openly opposed by a superior force, conceded after getting annihilated and killing a lot of people for no reason Afghanistan: 9/11, I’m sorry but does the constitution reinforce the right to commit foreign invasion and domestic terrorism, oh wait, it doesn’t! Iraq 2: WMD Boogaloo: 100% deserved it (don’t even question me, Saddam was fanning the the flames of ethnic tension just to stay in power), 100% lied about the WMDs just to have an excuse to do it, willingly chose to not fix the mess after the fact despite having total obligation too Ok, let’s tally 4 outta 5 in recent history Dam So what was your argument again?
@@ComfortsSpecter I'm not seeing how any of those examples were a threat to our Constitution or Liberty. Especially the fake Iraq WMD one. 🤷♂️
Interesting it can sound like a muted horn without a mute…
