My nan and pop were the last owners of this pub/hotel. Absolutely beautiful town and miss coming to visit every year! My nan has now passed so this is sentimental to me 🥹 they were only there a couple of years but it’s all I can remember.

The business including stock, equipment, fittings, fixtures and additional revenue streams were purchased by us from the previous lessees. When we chose not to take up an option on the lease, the building owner offered to purchase the business for a quarter of what we had paid for it two years prior. We declined this offer. When we vacated the pub, we took our possessions with us and leased new vacant premises for the non-hospitality arm of the business. Nothing was removed from the pub that we did not own. We are still living and working in this community so the imputation that we “gutted the pub” is easily checked but who are we to let the truth stand in the way of a good story?
