Adam Scott went to one of the higher-up from Starz to ask if Party Down was going to be renewed. He said he got an offer to be on Parks and Rec wondered if Party Down was getting a third season. The executive said to enjoy his new job. Only a handful watched Party Down when it aired but I think it makes a better story to say Adam Scott left a show to be on a better show, but it’s simply not true. The rumor refuses to die. Lesie acted the same toward various guys so I’m not sure she was jealous about him getting attention from co-workers. I personally didn’t see it as flirty. The house Lesie and Ben leased is the same house April and Andy used for the backdrop of their honeymoon house, that was supposed to be in Michigan. You can tell the fireplace is the same. Adam Scott was originally cast for only one season. Mike Schur wanted Lesie to have a new man each season but after the ‘Freddie Spaghetti’ episode when Ben smiled at her at the end, Mike knew he would be her soulmate. Rob Lowe was only supposed to be on for 6 episode and then be re-assessed. Thank God he wanted to stay. I think it was kind of mean of Leslie to invite Ben’s parents, not the time and place, especially since his dad, unannounced brought his pregnant girlfriend. I never had an engagement party since the family on both sides are nuts, but I thought this was a great episode.

Adam had Jim on lock but they wanted to pair him with Bob Odenkirk as Michael Scott and when Steve Carell got the job, Adam was out. Also, he didn't turn down Party Down, it was cancelled. That's how he got the job on Parks.
