Solid video, at this point I definitely can't consider myself a beginner due to the time I've had with the game and the skill I've gained over said times (I actually spent the most time with the game originally back when it was still on PC game pass. Between my no longer using the service, and the game having been removed the game pass I stopped playing and moved on to trying some other roguelikes for a while thanks to OSFE showing me that the genre actually can be fun. At some point due to how much I enjoyed it when I originally played on game pass, I knew I had to grab a steam copy which I eventually did some time last year. Just got back into the game and unlocking everything in the steam version and I'm loving it arguably even more than when I played my first go around with the game. Kinda derailed myself there ha, but just wanted to say it's always solid to hear other thoughts on what is important to do to improve your survivability chances and get further in your runs. I think even veteran players can benefit, in part just to it being a solid run through of issues they may have overlooked or just don't think about enough anymore due to their time with the game. Anyways, haven't checked if you have any more OSFE content but glad you decided to give making a general strategy video a go.

I always struggle with Hearth Terra, I have more success with Bullet Hell Gunner even. Though I do think hearth Terra is interesting and can be fun to use.

Dunno if this comes up in later videos, but... Removals can be used on artifacts and pacts. Once Shopkeeper is up to a good amount of HP, you can remove the Beret to use _all_ of the money you've built up without tanking your HP. And any character can remove pacts to get their benefit without having to deal with the attached challenge.

Arrgh, so close. Frustrating you never found the mana gem you needed, but that's how things go sometimes. I'm surprised you killed the shopkeeper so early. If you waited until Eden you could have shopped the whole game.

The next few episodes are centered around the anima focus, it wasn't on purpose it just turned out that way when I felt like recording.

You don't really need the wings for Terra. A doublecast Tremor is wonderful because it always repairs tiles and does a ton of damage. It's a great jumping off point into a powerful flow build. My ideal Hearth build would be something like Earthen Armor, Fracture, Earth Prayer, Rock Tomb, Tremor, Waterfall. You want doublecast on everything you can, and Waterfall with Fragile on hit as well. It will vaporize anything it touches.

Arrg. I know you wanted the mana regen, but it hurt seeing you pass up Merit Badge for the stacking spellpower. XD

Bosses have unique lines they say when you defeat them flawlessly, like you did with Violette here.

Dunno if you found it yet, but to get Saffron's last set, you must complete a genocide run. You must find a way to kill Serif. Looping is not good enough. I'll leave the rest to you to figure out. ;)

Tip 11: Use gunner and spam cards and attack and lmao

I think something like top 5 artifacts of each rarity would have been more useful. I mean, sure, I'd take a Rainbow bomb on any run, but it's very rare. When it comes to low rarity all-stars, I think of Adaptive armor, as you said it saves you a ton of grief from multi-hit attacks, Scales, 20 shield whenever you shuffle is lifesaving, Poison vial lets you kill those high defense, low HP enemies much easier including Chests, Merit Badge, you can easily stack 10+ spellpower off of this if you focus on saving hostages, and Power Shard, 10 bonus damage on hits over 40 is amazing for any build. I disagree with Link cable. I mean, yes it does help kill groups faster, but I just don't see that as a high priority. I want things to kill bosses. I think Static is ok, but not worthy of a top 10. Baz's whip and Mjolnir seem too unreliable, given their very high rarity. You can do better. But that's just my opinion.

Speaking of limited upgrades. I don't know if you find out in later videos (I have to catch up), but you can remove artifacts and shopkeeper pacts using removals. So late game, you can remove useless artifacts to try to find new ones. :D

I was staring at the bottom left spells too, I used a piece of paper to retrain myself. And if you are having an issue with diagonal spells, you can put some plastic wrap around your monitor and draw a checkerboard pattern on it, (just black wasn't enough for me so now it's red and green) [Reva is my main and kept accidentally killing the hostages, but it's really nice for enemy attacks]

I'm so glad you got looped by Serif on your first genocide run. You almost stumbled upon killing her without seeing that, just because your first Genocide run was with the shopkeeper.

Hey man, just wanted to let you know I appreciate the content. I've been crazy in love with the game, and you have one of the longest youtube series on it.

I really feel the feather that lets you float over broken tiles should be on this list. That’s an amazing artifact, maybe a little more niche, but I’ve found it super helpful especially on the last 3 or so stages. One less factor to think about and really let’s you focus on dodging. Not to mention it’s amazing in hearth/flow decks since it essentially removes the only downside of these cards.

Wow, watching that back, I have no idea why you died. You dropped her, and then she got back up and did an attack for 1000 damage. So it seems like it was a scripted death, but... why? AHHH, ok, reviewing the entire run again, I think it was because Reva already saved you on the Violette fight, then she wouldn't be there to save you from Terrable.
