Remember folks, the Jamaican diaspora stretches into Panama too. It goes way back to the building of the Canal. Many Panamanians have Jamaican heritage; and many speak the Jamaican dialect.🇺🇸🇯🇲

I truly miss Air Jamaica! 😢😢😢❤❤❤ one of the best Airlines in history, never a crash to my knowledge! Who remembers that the flights were reasonably priced? They had some of the best pilots too! ❤❤🇬🇧🇯🇲

That's not the situation all the time. Winds an be calm and the pilots can decide where to take off from. It's also time saving than to go all the way dwn to rny 12 , and can also be a straight out departure if it's north bound.

@jaysan2k9 not only that but also because there is less wind during the morning and evening meaning that they need more runway.

Their new 77Ws have GE90s but the 772s are all rollers I think. On the bright side, all their new A350s will be rollers!

@jaysan2k9 The wind direction just changed so they had to change RWY in order to take-off into (against) the wind

air jamaica pilots are of the best in the world ....but not soo much credit can be said about their customer service

I am wondering why the pilots didnt take-off from the beginning of the runway, the plane is small enough for it to do that circle because ive seen an air jamaica a340 do it.

@0152399 this time is an ideal time to fly because the North Atlantic Tracks that are heading towards europe are open to incoming traffic

@jaysan2k9 becuase you take off opposite the wind. So it depends on which direction the wind is blowing
