Beginners can really hurt themselves if they don't develop the proper smash technique and muscles beforehand and they try to replicate this motion.

4:42 holy shit that defense. Look at where his right leg is after that split step in preparation for LZJ's smash, to be able to reach and perfectly defend with the right power level such a sharp and fast cross court smash in that position and along with momentum carrying him to the top left is absolutely insane. You can't beat that LOL

@@saranshjoshi4177 Lol who hurt you? Someone you've never met before talks about how they think a certain move was impressive, and you feel the need to gatekeep that, not let them have an opinion, and call it senseless? Are you always an elitist dick or are you just having a bad day?

This is abomination. Our badminton coach told us you have to setup your body and stay on course prepare your leg stance and control your shuttle trajectory before smash the birdie. I don't know what he has to say about this. Prime LDs is a beast. His execution is beyond natural limits. It's just so perfect that those days even with out a good defense or foot work he could have easily won which he did...The god of badminton.

Some of the most beautiful skills seen in badminton are not typically taught to beginners. Lin Dan's stick smash like Taufik's backhand smash were instinctual and deceptive moves developed over many years of practice. They're so powerful because the action is so fast and there is no long windup to prepare the opponent.

@@luf4rall can i ask does lin dan stick smash mainly use his wrist to generate the power or its wrist plus arm pronation?

Post LCW.. Kento Momota is now the World Champ 👍 Only AS Ginting, ShiYuqi and Srikanth Kidambi can penetrate Momota's defence. Fast Cross Court Smashes are what gives Momota the ability to pick the birdie. If the same Smashes are played a bit slow.. Momota would loose. He has a weak point as Great Gillian knows told once: "Right Hand Front Court". ♥️

The song “Killing me softly” is exactly on point ! That’s what Lin Dan do in his game. A flat clear for him is like a free gift that he can exploit as many as his want. Very few players has such wrist power to perform a sudden yet powerful smash. It is just natural strength. Even Lee Chong Wei cant do that. Trying to copy this shot could easily hurt you wrist and waist, as you need great flexibility to stay balance after this smash. That’s something only Lin Dan can do, one of a kind.
