A very good overview. Bradley's early work Ethical Studies is a series of essays still worth reading, even if written in the Victorian context.
A nice introduction to some aspects of his work, which covers such a wide sweep it's impossible to include much in a short video. His treatment of change, the nature of being, the cosmological argument need more than one video
Yes, I might try and make some videos focused on particular aspects. I've just experimented with playlists so some videos might benefit from additional videos focused on particular aspects.
Wittgenstein video is the most popular by far.
Rousseau's political philosophy has probably had more pernicious effects than beneficial in the long run, by intellectually enabling highly centralised state control to the detriment of personal freedom. Two notable examples in the 20th century, which hardly need to be named.
I liked the way they discuss and explain it, it is so good.
We can look at other thinkers too if you have the idea of who? I do want to the stick to the philosophers but there is a blurred boundaries with some of the pioneers of psychology and also some 'religious' texts too.
@@Philosophyandinterestingre-v8d I would be happy to see discussions on history and science, as well as tourist attractions ads.
@@cy9427 History or things like Herodotus I can imagine but Science would definitely be a new channel.
Best video on Hume! Excellent job! 👍
Glad you think so! Any requests for any other thinkers?
This is AI
AI-assisted. I already explained in previous comments.
The idea of the self as a relative perspective is developed in Pirandello's vertiginous novel "One, No One and One Hundred Thousand".
Very interesting. Just read the Wikipedia entry on the book. I might look into this a little more deeply when I get the time.
This video makes NPR sound sassy
I haven't listened to NPR, but I'm assuming you mean the presenters are tame and inoffensive.
Why do you need 2 people on a 20 min video? Weak
This is an AI generated podcast. That's why they sound so stilted. The app is called Google NotebookLM. It came out a few months ago.
We studied Hobbes and his Leviathan when I was at UC Berkeley and took a class in Rhetoric of the Constitution. The Founders of USA read Hobbes and were influenced by him.
thanks youtube algo for bringing me here
That's cool man. I created things to collate my own thoughts, and then everything got splattered with others saying this relates to this thinker or other. This is my notebook, and discussion forum. Some philosophers I'd never heard of before but this is happenening.
I think Schopenhauer video and the person is more to my liking. From others and talking I can make another video on Wittgenstein between the different phases as it does seem popular. Like a deep-dive on the deep-dive.
No love for Dostoevsky? Dostoevesky is so special to me. After reading most of his works, there are things I didn't realise here.
where are your videos from?
Collate the corpus, analyse with AI to create the position and create the voices. In places I feel the AI misses differences and developments in the writings and for others it hits the mark crazy good. I'm working on it but it see's connections that I would have never seen between life works that I have read.
You guys are doing an excellent job! 👍 Thank you!
No worries. Let me know if you have any requests. Always open to learning aboug new thinkers.
Really interesting, thank you. But why does the conversation sound so fake... or rehearsed?
Sorry about that. I should've read below first. Understood now 👍
Expounds very clearly the central ideas of Davidson. Also highlights those areas where further debate is required.
Good to hear. Thanks.
Is that … AI?
Hi. It's AI assisted for voice, and analysing the corpus. I choose the books and questions for writers that I have an interst in, have read or others have requested.
Nicely done. I took notes haha
Glad it was helpful! Have you got any requests for other thinkers?
What kind of channel is this? Is it AI generated?
AI-Assisted. I use AI to analyse the texts and generate the voices. I have the ability to analyse the corpus and get it to focus on particular aspects. From speaking to someone else they were saying that Wittgenstein would be better if it separated his earlier work from his latter work, as this summary seems to present them more as a coherent whole. I can make a part 2 if you need.
So I choose writers that I have read, or am interested in getting an overview of, or from requests from subscribers.
this is great. Thanks for sharing
I am very interested in this very topic and have researched these concepts myself for quite a while now. This video, and possibly channel, simply seems to be 2 AI entities discussing philosophy. You can have these kinds of interactions yourself with a competent AI entity. I have not engaged 2 AI entities in such a fashion, but that appears to be what this is and it is very easy to achieve. Very interesting and educational as well, depending on your topics of choice. I would encourage anyone who enjoys this type of content to try having these sorts of discussions yourself. Thanks for the upload. On point for me right now.
@@Mike-yt4jq There is some time that goes into curating the works, and guiding the discussion with the right questions but yes there seems to be some chain of thought with the two AI entities. The other thing I experimented (but not on TH-cam) was with a consortium of AI's that view the same issue from a variety of different perspectives until they reach consensus. I may try it here once I reach a 100 different thinkers then get them to together like a kind of perrenial philosophy.
Thnx❤
No worries.
Spinoza's philosophy is not particularly novel since it draws heavily upon Stoicism and Cartesianism, although it did challenge the orthodoxy of the time.
Excellent exposé of a philosopher who deserves more attention
The repeating each other is unlistenable.
You do you. If it's unlistenable, don't listen.
@@Philosophyandinterestingre-v8d Don't worry, I didn't.
Hobbes looks so much like Louis CK that I almost expect Leviathan to be about a public JO fetish.
That's quite funny, I didn't see the likeness until you pointed it out. To be fair for a standup comic, Louis CK seems pretty well read. He does a sketch that references some of Dostoevsky's if I remember correctly.
Your will is actually your willy.
🙄, maybe you should read a little more Schopenhauer as I don't think that was his idea.
@Philosophyandinterestingre-v8d that was Freud's idea actually.
@Philosophyandinterestingre-v8d my copy of The Will and Representation has gathered enough dust; it's time I dust it off, and read again.
please do edmund husserl
I'll take a look into it.👍
Just added@@Philosophyandinterestingre-v8d
Is these AI voices?
Yes. It's impressive how natural sounding they are.
"Graeber’s work challenges the systems we take for granted." Very well said.
Wa this created with NotesLM? It’s pretty good
Yes, I use it to to summarize huge collections of works.
Superb
Thanks all. Any other persons of interest. I was thinking Kant next when I get time.
@Philosophyandinterestingre-v8d Kant is nice choice. Well I'll request for Frederick Neitazche
Awesome ❤
Thank you! Cheers! Let me know any other topics or persons for deep-dive. It's suprising Spinoza is currently the most popular.
This is a really cool video well done guys!
Thanks. Schopenhauer has always been interesting to me. Let me know any other topics for deepdives.
Amazing! So interesting
Yes, there are some amazing essays by Stephen Jay Gould about strange things frmo evolution, like the pandas thumb and how it differs from ours, and other quirks of nature.
