5 Days in Kyoto Vlog - Fujifilm X-S20 (Part 1)

Kyoto honestly feels like home to us. It has that laidback, Chiang Mai vibe but with an urban twist, a peaceful city where you can slow down and still feel the city’s pulse. So, that’s exactly what we did: took things easy and soaked in Kyoto’s quieter side. Our mornings were spent just the way we like, visiting a local cafe. We went to a heritage café called The Terminal Kyoto, built in 1932, ...

Originally, we’d planned to visit Lake Yamanakako, but due to some last-minute changes, we ended up at Lake Kawaguchi, and it did not disappoint. Arriving just in time for sunset, we were left breathless by the stunning view of Mount Fuji. It was the highlight of our Japan trip, a place where we wanted to savor ...

Do you guys color grade or is this straight out of camera film simulation?
Ang ganda pala ng lens ❤
Yessss Clau Marie! Ganda ♥️
Fantastic! How can I learn more about the lut / color grade? 🙌🏻
Christmas decorations in the Philippines is the best!
Can’t wait to celebrate New Year in Chiang Mai! ❤❤❤ Hope to see you two!
Oh no! We won’t be around for the New Year, but we hope you have an amazing time here! 🫶🏻
To no surprise, your footage is beautiful! I've been using the xs20 in Japan but struggle with the exposure and focus constantly changing when recording. Do you film and take photos in the custom mode? Or do you switch to movie mode to record manually? Would love to see your settings for recording! Thank you!!
Hi Kelly! We’re using an ND filter to manage the exposure. Have you updated the firmware? We’re shooting in aperture priority mode, though sometimes we switch to manual because Fuji struggles with autofocus sometimes.
The Quality of Your Video is Superb! 👍👍👍 - watching from NYC .
Thank you for watching! It means a lot that you like the quality. ♥️
man I really love the shots of you two through shop windows but I could never just leave my tripod and camera unattended like that where we're at 😭
Haha! It’s all about trusting the vibes and taking a chance. 🙏🏼🫶🏻

I’m also looking at a 50 mm, sony nga lang. So very timing. 4 mins since posting, nanonood na me!
Galing! Check out the link sa description, I believe meron din available for Sony. Thank you for watching! 🫶🏼
Uy
Xtina is the itttt!!! Glad to know you’re a fan!
HUGE FAN! 🫶🏻 Thank you for watching, Kenny. 🙏🏼
So natural, so beautiful
Saw your ig thread post and went straight to youtube. Love the cinematography of your vlogs brings me back to when people actually are very creative with vlogs, seems like everyone is so very into raw vlogs (which is maganda din naman) but I find this types of vlog na very laid back lang and not very chaotic, nakaka relax panoorin 🤍
Ahh! Salamat sa pag bisita dito and for leaving such a lovely comment. Honestly, we thought this might be one of our more overstimulating content. Haha! ♥ We hope you’ll consider subscribing to our channel. 🙏🏼

Hello nice song 😘💘❤️❤️❤️🌹🌹🌹
Philippines pa rin. Wooohoooo!
Loving the video colour and mood. Subscribed! Keep going!
Nothing against you and your content but Banthat Thong is probably the most overhyped spot for food. There are some good older shops there, but all the newcomers are all mid at best.
We believe you! Some of the newer shops can be a bit underwhelming. But for us, it's still a fun place to explore and discover new eats. Thanks for sharing your opinion! Love it. We’re always open to hearing different perspectives. Would love to hear your recommendations. ♥️
What is the name of the font you're using and where did you get that aesthetic icons!
I will appreciate it really much when you can share about the camera setting & how you grade the tone color. 🥹🙏🏻 Btw, love your video! feel like goood vibe. Keep doing:) From 🇹🇭
Many people have been asking about our camera settings, so we’ll make a video about it in the future. Thanks for watching! ♥️🙏🏼
@ thanks a lot for replying. I'll support you guys !
I love your vlog. So creative , nice color grading , good editing and super cinematic. Keep up the awesome work. Cheers from the local here 😊
We’re so happy you enjoyed the video, especially you, a local! ♥️ THANK YOU! 🙏🏼
Hi from Indonesia! I really love your videos, especially the color tones. By the way, could you share your video settings? Do you usually shoot in 4K, 6K, or something else? And do you use a log profile? Thanks a lot if you can take the time to reply!
Many people have been asking about our camera settings, so we’ll make a video about it in the future. For now, these shots were captured in 6K straight out of the camera. Thanks for watching! 🙏🏼♥️
Dec 2024 still watching you, i love your voice❤
I am so glad naligaw sa home page ko to 🥹 sobrang nakakarelax panuori, parang kasama ako sa chismisan sa cafe???? eme!! bet na bet ko mga gantong chill vlogs na di nakakaoverstimulate! ganda ng quality.
We are also glad na napadpad po kayo dito sa amin! Welcome po sa weekly naming chismisan. 😂 Thank you! ♥️
Love the color grade. Would love to see how you grade your footage
Hi! New subscriber here! I was an expat in Bangkok for 8 years, and everything you said about how far behind the Philippines is compared to other Asian countries really resonates with me-it’s so true and disheartening! I also want to say that I absolutely love your vlog style. I only recently discovered your channel, but I’m already hooked! Thailand will always feel like home to me, so please keep posting-I’ll be looking forward to your next vlog!❤️
Hello! Thank you for subscribing. We're so glad you’re enjoying the vlogs! It means a lot to us. Sa totoo lang, the Philippines has everything it needs to succeed. Natural beauty, a rich culture, and hardworking people. But until we address the challenges, our full potential will remain out of reach. 🫶🏼🙏🏼
Thank you for another beautiful vlog! As someone who also aims to better document my travels and everyday life, I'm curious on how you guys setup your camera when you're on the go. Is your tripod just constantly out so you can set it easily on scene? Would love for a behind-the-scenes take on how you film! I can imagine how challenging it is to make your vlogs cinematic and framed properly but you both manage to do so constantly. So inspiring! 🤍
Thank you so much for your kind words and for enjoying our vlogs! ♥️ The tripod is definitely an essential part of our gear. We always make sure to bring it with us when vlogging. However, there are times when using a tripod isn’t practical, especially when we need to be mindful of the people around us or the space we’re in. In those cases, we get creative and look for flat surfaces that can serve as makeshift supports to get the right angle or framing. Documenting travels and life’s moments is such a rewarding experience. We’re looking forward to having you join us for more of our future videos! 🙏🏼
Really love the scenes and perspectives you capture. It’s very “slice of life”.
Thank you very much! ♥️
Totoo yung sinabi ng friend nyo, parang kasama talaga kami sa mga vlogs nyo which is very therapeutic para saming mga nasa bahay lang. We need more please, thank you! <3
Sobrang nakakataba ng puso ang sinabi mo! It inspires us even more to keep creating content. Maraming salamat! See you sa future vlogs po. 🙏🏼

love the way yall shot this 🥹 makes it feel like a friend tagging along for the ride
i like your video. i like all the shots. very beautiful. great dynamic between the 3 of you. love the honesty when it came to evaluating the food and places.
Thank you so much for watching! We really want our vlog to reflect who we are in real life, just us, but with a camera recording. We hope to see you again in our next vlog.🫶🏻
I really love your color grading. It's really natural and beautiful. First time saw your video and i have to subscribe right away. May I ask what font did you use for all the texts appeared on screen?
Thank you for subscribing! The fonts we’re using are Montserrat and Moneta. Hope to see you sa next vlog! 🫶🏻
watching this while eating Royce Matcha Bar Chocolate. Sarap talaga balik-balikan ang Japan. Our next destination will be in Kyoto kaya sakto napanood ko to. Really great editing, nice visuals with good background music that really suits well. And also the color grading and your outfits parang naka-set talaga lahat. Looking forward sa future Japan vlogs :)
Thank you so much for your comment! We’re glad you enjoyed the video and noticed the little details, it really means a lot. Wishing you an unforgettable trip to Kyoto! We can’t wait to go back to Japan ourselves! ♥️😍
I really love the color of your video. Would you recommend buying the X-s20 or x-m5 for a newbie ? I’m looking to buy a Fuji cam to take travel photo/video, has been looking at these 2 options but not sure if the X-s20 is hard to use (I think the x-s20 doesn’t have button to change film recipe like the x-m5)
Hello! We’d say go for the X-S20, especially because the battery life alone makes it a great choice for travel. As for the recipe dial, the X-S20 makes it super easy to switch recipes, plus you can customize the dials to suit your needs. It’s a very intuitive camera and not difficult to learn, even for a beginner. If you do decide to get one, we’d really appreciate it if you could use our link. It helps support us. Let us know if you have more questions! 🫶🏻
I SUPER LOVE YOUR VIDEO, AT NAG KAROON AKO NG IDEA KUNG ANO ANG GAGAWIN KONG VIDEO PAG PUNTA KO NG THAILAND THIS DEC 2, SORRY PO PERO GAGAYAHIN KO YUNG SAYO ❤❤❤❤❤❤ LOVEYOU ALL ❤❤❤❤❤❤
Yes! Go for it! I hope you enjoy your visit in Thailand. Speaking of, uupload kami ng Bangkok vlog next week. Hope to see you po! 🙏🏼

starting to getting back at video producing since I found your channel on threads. Keep going!
It’s so nice to see you here on TH-cam! We’re so glad to have sparked some inspiration for you. ♥️🙏🏼 Thank you!
Which fujfilm recpie and what software you use to color grade the footage from X-S20?i got an X-S20 and excited to learn to make videos like this. Really nice videos
Hello! Thank you so much! The recipe is available here on TH-cam under the title, “My Only Camera for Vlogging.” We’re also using DaVinci Resolve for editing. 🙏🏼
@@YongandMike Thanks a lot. I was looking at the link to tripod in your videos description, i assume that's the one you are using for most of the videos which is compatible with XS20? I have been looking at gimbals, but looking at your videos, i guess using a tripod would be better choice
Start by trying handheld or using a tripod first, no gimbal needed. If you’re not satisfied, then consider purchasing one. We mostly shoot handheld or with a tripod. If you decide to buy, using our link would really support us. 🫶🏻
New fan of your cinematography! Are you holding the camera in some of these shots? If so how do you keep the frames so steady?
Hello! Thank you! Some of the shots were actually handheld. Whenever Mike (the one with the curly hair) is out of the frame, it means he’s the one holding the camera. We also did some stabilization in DaVinci Resolve. 🙏🏼
Have y’all done much shopping in Japan? Would love to see a haul video if so!
We’d love to, but honestly, we didn’t do much shopping while in Japan.
Love your videos. So calm
Thank you very much! ♥️
Apologies if some parts of the video sound a bit off. We had to remove the background music due to a copyright claim.
If you're interested in the gear setup we're using, be sure to check out the description. It’s a great way to support us! 🙏🏼
Teaching in Thailand for more than a decade is no easy feat, so kudos to the both of you, and extending the gratitude na rin to all OFW teachers, regardless of where they are based. It’s these reality-check convos that make your videos more interesting. They allow us to have a glimpse of what it’s like to live and work abroad. I also like Yong’s comments on coffee and enjoying it. Totally relatable. Sipping a cup of it is like listening to an important tale. While Filipino resiliency is often seen as a strength, I think the risk is that it can lead to the normalization of suffering. Regardless, it’s nice that you guys are seeing it from that POV. Such a heartwarming video, you two. To more captures and stories!
Wow, thank you so much for your thoughtful comment Eizen! It means a lot to us that you appreciate the conversations we share. Thanks for the kind words. Here’s to more stories, more captures and meaningful exchanges! ♥️
What a beautiful video and a charming set of photos. Fuji forever! Keep traveling, keep exploring, and more importantly, keep sharing stories!
It’s nice to see you here Eizen! Thank you! ♥️
