When I was in high school, my parents went to Hawaii and my brother and I borrowed a set of these, powered them w our tube amp, and invited 60 or 70 of our friends over and played all the current hits. Everyone knew we were having a party, it sounded soooo awesome, all thanks to these speakers. Also, my parents never knew. Lol!!!

Hello, preamp can not be operated with rca cable if there's no octal inter power cord??
Yes. The special cord does get the power from the mc30 to the c8. So, if you want to use the rca, you have to modify the regular power cord to use it.

Wow, what a great sound. Can you recommend a pair of speakers for the 4400? I listen mostly to jazz and Pink Floyd :) I am currently restoring my 4400 and truly enjoy watching your videos. Have you ever had a Marantz 2325? I wonder if there is any difference in sound between the 4400 and the 2325?
I've never owned the 2325. The speakers depend on your room size. Big room get with 15" woofer. Small 12" will be fine..
Did you replace the main filter caps?
Yes, all caps were replaced.
Can I just ask what did you put for filter caps? Would a 33000 uF Kemet fit instead of the original 20000 uF

Wood glue from Home Depot with 2x4 stud. Just get something to fill that. It doesn't matter what type of wood. You can save sawdust when you cut any types of wood

Hilarious! Had a JR-S401 and a pair of HMP100's in '79. It was AWESOME! Got me in trouble for noise complaints a couple times.
