Listening to this now. I got to chat with Andrew for a few minutes at the D23 Expo in August (I remember his face lighting up when I mentioned me and my friends watched John Carter a few months prior). There had been a question I had on my mind since the Toy Story Ultimate Toy Box Set came out on DVD. In the opening, Lasseter is all: “Andrew you get to say ‘super-genius’ all the time!’” This was a reference to Wile E Coyote calling himself a “supah-genius.” So, I asked Andrew about that, and he just said that was something they threw around in the office when they were working late and getting down to crunch times. Still, was nice to chat with one of my favorite PIXAR directors (I think he may be right behind Brad Bird in my top 2).
One of my favorite clips ever. Pure animation and observation of humanity. Thank you for uploading this!
Glad you enjoyed it! I like how he shows that, contrary to what many believe, the ideas of acting and performance don't come ready in the first version of the animation. As mentioned in the video, it's about small increments and changes to improve and make it even better.

"Writing, I hate it" "Directing, I hate it" These words really opened my eyes about filmmaking, Great Advice from Stanton.
