Congratulations to the Taliban for winning the Global War on Terror
RIP Chris gray. The circumstances of this soldiers death were in a BBC series called out War. This was filmed coincidentally at the same time by a different film crew.
🇬🇧❤️🇬🇧❤️🇬🇧❤️🇬🇧
The majority of people here are raf and navy commandos here. I was thinking there
all this and they lost
Is this video the one for the poor lad Chris Gray? I think it is so it didn't have a happy ending, R.I.P Chris, the MERT crews and the American Pedro crews were phenomenally brave to fly into these extremely dangerous situations but.... the lads on the ground are in the poop almost every day.🇬🇧🇺🇸✌✌
What a brilliant and lovely community. If only my home town followed this tradition.
And now in 2021 we can see that each and every death was COMPLETELY in vain. Total betrayal of our young people. For shame.
My heart is with every soldiers family that had died they served our country’s well and took their lives for us children and adults to have a happy lairs lest we forget I will never forget them ❤️
It's so sorry to see them out side
How many lives wasted on another far flung shit hole?
And today, we have the taliban on the cusp of taking back Kabul. What a waste of such a young life. Stand Easy Private Chris Gray. I stood in Royal Wooton Bassett on many occasions, lowering my head as each young person passed as each grieving family cried. It sickens me.
a loaded Chinhook can out run an Apache? wow
May God bless my brothers and sisters across the pond. Someday we hopefully will stop getting ourselves into these difficult situations. The fact we can count on you to stand shoulder to shoulder with us....means everything. Come to Tennessee and drinks on me. Godspeed
This pulled my heartstrings hard, couldn’t help shedding some tears seeing our lads coming home like that. So glad we’re finally pulling out of that hellhole but I don’t want their fight to have been for nothing.. seeing how the taliban are on the counter offensive already makes me sick. Salute to all the heroes who’ve served in any war, we wouldn’t be here living as we do without you.
Here we are in 2021, the reality of the conflict in Afghanistan coming to an end, a result and ending that we predicted when our soldiers first went there. So many young men and women have given their lives over the past two decades, such a waist. But, if we able to give them a second chance in life, they’d do it all again, because they were with the best mates and camaraderie that one could ever wish for in life. A friendship that still kindles after death, RIP
When the war so old it's not even filmed in HD
When did the army have chinooks?
Title needs renaming as the RAF was flying the cow. Pilot officer was in the co seat so fresh out of training? Good bit of footage I had a tear in my eye. I was once based down at RAF Lyneham before I moved to Leaming and I was in Thetre with the nimrod crew that set alight and crashed after a2a refuelling. All crew lost inc SAS and SBS personnel. I was talking to one of the special forces guys the night before. Wars and conflicts are a terrible place to experience you feel too detached when a civi.
"...try not to fanny around..." - BRITISH FOR, Lets not mince about, just be ready to get in and out.
Thankyou to all personnel absent and present for the sacrifice you make so my children, wife and I can live the life we do in peace and security. We are truly grateful and will never forget. ❤️🇬🇧💪
Smoke is the marked landing zone... But what ever.
How can a chinnock out run a apache? Surely attack helicopters would be faster
A little over a mile away
Fuck off RAF piss
I live in Bassett, we did what we could and the whole town did it with pride. It was an honour to see them through as they did us.
2021: Turns out all of this really was a waste of time, a waste of money and a waste of lives.
What about that for teamwork, communication, camaraderie, dedication and pure professionalism.
I knew i recognised the name Chris Gray and realised he was the brother of someone i went to school with. Truly devastating to see this all these years later.
Respect
What a desperately sad waste of a young life used as a political pawn for the rich, it makes me feel sick rip
"We'll get 'em out as quickly as possible, try not to fanny around...."
How does chinook outpace an apache? 5:10
Two sets of blades? Idk
Jesus! I came here to watch an interesting video about the poms in sand land and I leave with a saddened heart Lest We Forget
So so sad. But everyone done the best they could do. Hats off to all concerned 👍🙄
You'll never get a british army like this again.
The spirit will never leave it is a brotherhood like no other
Soldiers who fought in Afghanistan and Iraq were lucky.. they always had air support to evacuate the wounded. In some war, like WW1, WW2, Korean war, Vietnam war. It was either impossible ( no helicopter ) or just impossible to have helicopters take out the wounded. Getting hit in the chest or artery was certain death.
Hereos
That was a magnificent piece of flying.
Watching this in 2021, knowing the outcome of all the lads efforts is actually quite sickening. RIP
what happened to them?
@@sonnyxn619 We just abandoned the country to the taliban, wasting trillions of dollars and thousands of soldiers' lives. All for the Military Industrial Complex. Now China is just swooping in to take the minerals anyway.
@@sickre ik that i thought something happened to these soldiers in the video
I was just thinking the exact same thing.
Well they do swear an oath to the elite and not to their fellow citizens. What do they expect?
Truly amazing
Just put friends theme and it will be great
That is some impeccable airmanship right there! Excellent comm's, navigating and overall flying. Totally badass!
Common.... You're telling me you go into combat areas with Ray-Ban sunglasses?
I wonder how these guys feel about the Taliban being back in charge.
I’m sure the Apache helicopter is faster than a chinook?
The Apache is a very slow helicopter but don’t have to be fast when you have a punch like Mike Tyson.
How many kids were killed, eh hero.
A British Soldier, the worlds finest.
Helicopters arent exactly easy to fly anywhere but Afghanistan seems like the worst place miles of endless terrain that looks the same then mountain ranges that can go up and down for miles not the kinda place you can switch off and relax and ofcourse people shooting at you is ironically probably the least of your worrying
