It's time to sail around the world!
That's right, we are leaving our beloved Sicily, which hosted us for a year and a half and made us feel at home. Thanks to this wonderful land and to all the people who accompanied us here for a stretch of our journey, you will remain in our hearts forever!
But besides the melancholy, there is also the great enthusiasm to leave for new horizons.

SAILING among SCARY MONSTERS in the STRAIT of MESSINA (ITALY) - Living on a sailboat Ep. 1
Hello Hope you are well. I always enjoy watching your videos. You are working hard to grow your channel. Why can't I? Because your channel has some problems. What do you want to see? I can show you. And help you fix the problems. If you want, I have a big plan for your channel: how to grow your channel and how to increase views and how to promote in front of people.
Were they referring to White Sharks do you think?
Pls tell us more about the wonderful places you stop at - the ports you like the most, and the ones you don’t.
I love your narrative and adaptability….subscribed and will now binge on your channel! We are cruising Italy now and it your videos are coming to life for us! Grazie ❤
Excellent life. You are great. Good luck.
What happend after this episode?😮
You’re at under 1000 subscribers, and I note that there is a direct relationship between the number of masked/bikini shits and the increased number of subscribers. Good for you for not selling yourself like the rest do.
You are a great story teller. It’s hard believe English isn’t your first language. The Arabic singing towards the end is beautiful.
I like the theme of this episode! Your optimism reminds me of two quotes: “Smooth seas never made a skilled sailor” -Franklin D Roosevelt “We cannot control the wind, but we can adjust our sails” - Dolly Parton
Very nice video.
Bro what is this bs
Hi Guilia. We cannot wait to see and hear you again. What is happening!? Cheers Pawel
Oh! You need to keep an eye on the weather? Duh!
Omg, blah blah blah.
Adaptation is the best friend of all the sailors and good survival guide for all of us.
Complimenti ragazzi!
You didnt talk about what your title is at all.. where is the "truth"??
Hi Guilia and Mads, enjoying und the sunrise in the bay and helping kids drifting in a dinghy by towing them back to their boat with your kajak are the nice moments on the journey. We wish you a nice trip southwards the Croatian Coast. Eva & Dirk
I love your spiritual feelings in addition to ease of talking about the surrounding and findings 😊
Thank you Ahmed, I am really happy to appreciate listening to my thoughts! See you in the next video 😄
Really enjoyed your the preparation story, looking forward to see more about your upcoming adventures 😊
Hi Ahmed, thank you! I am happy you like it and I am looking forward to sharing more episodes 😍 See you soon!
Beautiful. The video/photos of Sicily were so interesting. Could you make the cuts a little longer to be able to appreciate them in more detail. Thank you for the journey.
Thank you for the comment and suggestion Ross, I will try to improve and include longer clips. Have a great Sunday 😃
Great video guys, it is always good to see a video post from Alba Sailing. Thank you so much for the virtual tour of Catania and Mount Etna. It's been a long time since I have seen either, I left Sigonella in 1985. You have stirred up many memories of my time stationed on the island of Sicily. I am so excited to see where your journey leads you next.
Hi Brian, I am always so happy to see you here in the comments! It's nice to hear that our videos bring you back in time. I am looking forward to sharing more of our adventure! Take care, Giulia
👍 Very well said Fair WInds 😎
Thank you! 😊
Bon Voyage!
Thank you!! 😃
Really enjoyed the update and super exciting to hear about your new journey plans. 🍾🥂
Thank you! I am looking forward to sharing more episodes ☺️
I also have an 'ALBA' 2005 Beneteau 473. It spent the first half of its life in the Med. Now in Shellharbour, NSW Australia :)
Hi Rod! Nice boat as well to carry such a meaningful name 🥰 So your Alba has really seen both sides of the world! ☺️
Giulia you are a natural narrator for sure, beautiful and a pleasure to watch. I look forward to more.
Thank you Joe, so happy to read your words 🥰 I am looking forward to sharing more as well. The new episode is up now ☺️
1s per img is horrible, please give us more of your experince. nice channel tks
Dear Alba crew, very nice videos, sensitive comments and symphatic witnessing. If you have had enough of the Mediterranean, then I can only give the tip, visit the Azores Islands! An extraordinary world, full of history, nature and the elemental forces of the volcanos. Unique in the world. TH-cam shows some of it. Fair winds, and always a finger deep good wine in the glass.
Hi Thomas, we are very happy to read that you like our videos! As per the Azores... sailing there is a dream of ours! And after reading your description of the islands, we are even more willing to do it! Thank you for the wish, as an Italian I (Giulia) make sure that glasses are always half full 🤗
@@albasailing2009 : Dear Gulia, dear Mads, what a great couple. Italian joie de vivre and Danish calm and restraint. I am almost a little jealous of Mads😅. I myself sail a Contest 38s ketch. A most seaworthy vessel and wonderful to maneuver for myself alone. Unfortunately I am not active on Instagram, only on Facebook. I am now just 73 years old, have children and grandchilderns in your age. They also love sea, sailing, the element and nature. Here on Sao Miguel it is not only uniquely beautiful, full of surprises but also very cheap to live. But that is not the reason for me to be here. As a Swiss, I enjoy a good pension. But the most beautiful thing here are the people. Open, friendly and very helpful. Then of course this is a whale-watching hotspot of a special kind. All species are to be observed here, very close daily. Also diving, as in the Red Sea with an incredible underwater world. So now I have made enough PR for these islands. You keep on having a lot of nice experiences, stay happy and satisfied in this crazy time.
I concur with the previous posts - your narration is rich in spirit. Such depth of feeling is what we all desire in our hearts imho. Thank you.
Thank you Ross, we appreciate your words 🤗
Great Video Guilia and Mads. I love your narration, especially of the Iliad, it reminds me of a time when I visited Acitrezza and the Cyclops Rocks. Wonderful adventure, I can't wait for the next one. Fair winds and following seas.
Thank you Brian! Yes this area is rich in mythology and legends, sailing here is like living in a real epic adventure. We are very happy that the pictures bring you back to the good times you had here. See you soon!
I am absolutely entranced by your dialogue. Not only by the mythology, but the poetic way your words craft your journey. Mythology has crafted your way of being. This is the second I have watched. Subscribing to your channel will ensure I will never miss your adventures. Thank you, and may the winds favour your adventures.
Hi Ray, thank you for your words, from the bottom of my heart! 🥹 It is priceless for me to read that my narration is appreciated, Thank you for subscribing and remain aboard Alba for the next episode 🤗
Beautiful, Thank You. I have come to believe it is both the desination and the journey, for they are different and the same. be open to see, hear, taste and smell. Fair Winds 😎
Thank you for sharing your view Darrell! We agree, you put it beautifully. We will be open and share with you what we encounter on our course. We hope to see you again around here 🤗
Great vid, thanks! Amazing place!
Thank you Dave!
Fantastic episode! Next level narration!! Thanx for sharing the journey. <3 ;)
Thank you so much for the comment! We are happy you like the narration. We have just released a new episode 🤗
Nice video. Thanks!
Thank you a lot! 🤗
Giulia, your poetry/prose is beautiful. I would like to ask a question or two if I may. 1. Which of the islands that you are you adventuring through have the mud baths? 2. What part of Italy are you from? Great video.
HI Brian! Thank you for your comment 🤗 To answer your questions: 1. Only the Island of Vulcano has mud baths, which are unfortunately closed and not accessible due to some Italian administrative matter. You can see them from outside the fence (ad shown in the video) but cannot enter. 2. I am from the city of Torino in Piemonte, in the North of Italy. It's quite different from Sicily, which makes it an exotic land to explore for me. Thank you again and I hope to see you again in the comments!🤗
@@albasailing2009 Ahhh, where the Fiat factory is. So are the Mud Baths closed permanently, or just because of covid?
Smooth seas never made a skilled sailor. If that's the worst mistake in your life, you will be doing well. Great video, Cheers from Texas.
Hi again Brian, you are quite right! It wasn't that bad in the end. Thank you 🤗
Great video. I lived just south of where you left port from. About 21 or so kilometers inland from Catania. It's nice to see that part of the world again. Beautiful area, it brings back many memories. Thank you for posting. Cheers from Texas.
Very interesting! If I may ask, why were you living there?🤗 It is a beautiful area and I am happy to virtually take you back to Sicily!
@@albasailing2009 I was in the United States Navy, stationed at Naval Air Station Sigonella. Some of my favorite places to visit was Taormina, Acitrezza, Augusta Bay and Siracusa. I would love a virtual tour of Sicily
What is the bread you made? I am always looking for a recipe for stove top.
It's called Farinata, it's just chickpea flour with water and a bit of oil. Here's a recipe in English www.giallozafferano.com/recipes/Chickpea-farinata.html Let me know whether you try it! 🤗
...two "unimer" compensators for the stern mooring lines and one for the anchor, all properly adjusted and you could sleep like a baby that night. You should get them to overcome any tough situation, when you 'll be caught in it...
Thank you! Indeed we bought a set right after this experience and they saved our sleep in many other situations. 🤗⛵️
