I'm not sure of any as of now. StGits has a design program in BDes at Kottayam.

We have to wait on some of the stats from the colleges. As of now there is only one govt college in kollam KSID that offers design courses.

Yes almost all colleges have an entrance exam or the India specific UCEED or ceed

I guess either of those. They would refurbish and reuse or directly upcycle too.

If the companies accept then you can. Companies also simply don't accept designs from anyone, there are teams of engineers, designers and so on who collectively work on projects. Sometimes companies also hire design firms for some of their work. Else if u have your own studio and are a renowned designer then u might have a chance.

Hi, so where did u find this course? Is it a one year masters from US or UK? Depending on duration and which college is offering it could be different. If it's RCA then it would be probably more focused on entrepreneurship if it's ACCD it might be focused on design for specific areas and so on.

Is engineering or medical science better. Is a lawyer better or a nurse better? Your question is in the same direction. Depends upon what u want. Both have their merits and downsides, so it depends upon your preference and passion.

No, there are only few colleges and most are not in Kerala

I don't think in Kerala currently there is any institution offering automobile design course. MIT Pune, IIT, Strate, NID are few offering the course.

UCEED and DAT enna peril exams undu, for all colleges in govt institutions like IIT and NIDs. Private colleges have their own test also.

Very interesting question, I'm glad that u asked it. This is like asking whether studying 'Medicine' or 'Engineering' or 'Commerce' a profitable career path. UI UX is currently in demand and there is a lot of money and speculation surrounding it, but who know in 4 years? Industrial design is a difficult career as it need a lot of physical, managerial, empathetic and so on roles to be played. There is a lot of physicality involved, its thus more difficult to design and create a new spoon than a web app or a mobile app. People choose careers based on money and passion, if it is money, then why not do business, trading, etc? Design is also a highly competitive field, especially like transportation design where there are only a few companies and studios around the world, but why do people yearn and try to become car designers? Passion, yearning, dreams, these are separate from money. Money is needed, but is it the only thing you want? So finally it comes to your choice and your drive. Good luck.

There is and it's different for different institutions. I'd advise you to pls check in the official webpage of the institution.

Industrial design is taught very much like product design itself. I have a new video on bdes and mdes in which I've explained the main course style and what all you will be learning. Kindly check it out. Let me know if there are more doubts after that

Industrial designers work on a broad scale of jobs from table accessories to medical devices to electronic devices to automobiles to spaceships. It depends mostly on the specific interest u take while learning design or doing projects. I'd say every country has their own requirements of industrial designers. But from my experience Europe and North America are more reputed since they were in the forefront of design and people give value to design there. People in the developing countries don't understand the value of design and it shows. Hope I've cleared a few of ur queries.

It depends on the college u are applying. Generally after a degree acceptable aanu for mdes.

Hi, I'm not sure about BSc interior design course. I can only say about BDes interior course.

Also pls do check if the BSc course is a degree or diploma course.

First of all, people learn design because they are passionate about it and want to pursue it. Also the question of a job and salaries arise which is to be considered. The trend in the past few years is leaning more towards digital design like interaction, ui ux and on. Graphic design has also been one where there are lots of opportunities. It doesn't mean that other disciplines have no opportunity, it's just that these have a bit more. Getting a job majorly involves how well u do the course and build ur portfolio. How well u can network with individuals and get yourself the best possible job. So end of the day it is very personal and dependent on your performance as a whole. If u are looking at design studies for a quick job, then maybe you should check again, it is also a difficult field to learn.

I think there is one in CAT trivandrum. In KSID it's a general bdes program. Pls do check in nift also
