เข้าร่วมเมื่อ 22 ม.ค. 2018
Hand Made Music! The real deal! The focus here is music played in traditional styles, such as flatpicking and fingerpicking guitar, clawhammer style banjo and guitar, and some mandolin picking as well. Genres covered are mostly, but not limited to, Blues, Bluegrass, Gospel, Celtic, and Old Time Mountain music.
“Home Free” original music by Randy Van at Flattop Thunder.
An original tune about the road to redemption and the culmination of a journey. ©️2024 Flattop Thunder

The Pig Ankle Rag!
มุมมอง 494หลายเดือนก่อน
Ragtime flatpicking! This song dates back to 1905 in the ragtime era. I had never heard this song until a week ago. I was taking part in a jam session, and one of the fiddle players suggested this tune. I liked it so much, I had to learn it for myself! Good stuff! #flatpicking #ragtime #fiddletunesonguitar
Celtic Flatpicking! The Gathering. (A jig)
มุมมอง 251หลายเดือนก่อน
Original music in the Celtic tradition. In days of yore, in the distant homelands of Ireland and Scotland, a gathering occurred when a task was completed, and the people of the village would gather to drink and dance and celebrate the success of the endeavor. Let us dance and be merry!! ©️2024 Flatpick Thunder Productions.

Awesome! I wonder where I guy learns to play like that.
@@dimwitsadvocate6264 Lotsa practice practice practice……….😎 Thanks!
@@flattopthunder5516 Yes, lots of practice! You are excellent. But I was wondering - did you just figure out the melody on your own or did you have something like a tab to move it along faster? And if it was a tab or something, where did you find it?
@@dimwitsadvocate6264 I have a hard time with tab. I don’t learn much from it. Instead what I did was familiarize myself with the blues scale, and the major and minor pentatonic scales. Then I listen to the song and find the notes within the scale, and then I “noodle around” with the notes until I create my own arrangement of the song I am learning. All of the songs on my channel are my own arrangements. If I use tab, then I am learning someone else’s arrangement. I would rather come up with my own. Hope that helps?
@@flattopthunder5516 Yes, this helps A LOT! You’ve given me the holy grail! You’re way of doing things probably also improves my ear. I’ll work with the scales and such and figure them out myself, and I’ll get better with time. Thank you so much!
@@dimwitsadvocate6264 All the best in your future musical endeavors!
