Great video
You may want to check in with the new owners. I hear they met riders last week with a lot of anger and threats of coming back with a gun. They are not wanting horseback riders/campers around anymore. This happened to two trustworthy friends, last week.
Do they rent horses, or do you have to bring your own?
I went there last yr. Had the best time. We went in the fall and the foliage was amazing. You most definitely will want to travel across the bridge on your horse. Highly recommend 😊
How is the cell signal?

What kind of draft horse do you ride? 😅
She’s a Shire/Paint cross
Great video, I also carry a bra to for anyhorse eye injuries. Along with duct tape.
Did you say that you have cabins or a bunkhouse to rent? Where can I find pictures, pricing and information on those. No LQ horse trailer.
Check out our video tour at www.tnhorsetrails.com
They can colic from eating their own hair too. Always clean up if you brush them off in the pasture
Just finished watching a video where someone did a nasogastric incubation with mineral oil on his miniature horse, he wasn't entirely sure what kind of colic his horse had but surmised that what he was doing was right, he said he had been in touch with emergency vet by phone and his own vet via Facebook .... seemingly where he lived was not covered by an on call vet during the weekend hence no vet visited the animal. Inevitably the horse died predominantly because he was so bloated it put pressure on it's lungs causing breathing issues. I like what you have suggested, like knowing the signs of different kinds of colic and how to treat the horse through experience of both the animal and the particular colic that was causing the problem. I definitely believe that the person I watched would have benefited from this video. Excellent informative video.
This is a great video. Laurel Hill Trail and Camp is an amazing place. I hope everyone checks it out.
Thanks! It really is.
Thank you Josh!
Thank y’all!
Gary is a very nice person, glad ya'll got connected with him. Look forward to checking out TWC.
I cannot wait to go ride there!! My husband fishes, so this is perfect!
There are some aggressive bass in that top pond.
Thank you ❤😊 for doing all this.
You bet!
I really have to tell my friend about this. They travel with horses. Thanks. Lynn and Danny
Thanks
Awesome! My husband and I horse camp and trail ride a lot and look forward to watching these podcasts and getting great tips!
Thank you! This is going to be fun!
Great job! Looking forward to learning more about Tennessee.
Thanks! Appreciate you tuning in!
We're thrilled to have you as the Tennessee Ambassador!
Do they have corrals or stalls? Just high line poles?
High line poles only with primitive camping space.
Super helpful. Thx.
You bet!
Wow! That was quite a story and I have tears in my eyes. Thanks for telling it.
Another suggestion was to smear Vaseline generously all around inside the hoof wall, on frog, etc, to prevent snowballs for a couple of days.👍
How was your experience? I didn’t have much luck with it past an hour.
Wranglers Campground is awesome, we camp there 2 to 3 times a year, we will try some of these other campgrounds in Tennessee, as soon as possible. thank you for this channel.
Appreciate the feedback!
Beautiful
It’s beautiful to watch natural movements not painful unnatural movements
Did you ride the full length?
So far I’ve hiked from Nice Mill to East Fork and ridden the other half.
My horse got gas colic I called vet and he said to give 2 tbs.of pesto bismol every 20 mins for an hr and if not better call back. She was much better and didn't need to call back
What is the length of the horse trail?
Approximately 17-18 miles according to corps of engineers website.
I just hiked this trail today. From Central Valley Trailhead to East Fork Rec Area wasn't too bad; a few downed trees with paths going around and not quite enough trail markers. From East Fork Rec Area to Nice Mill however, was a different story; more diverse landscape, but much less maintained/harder to locate the trail. More than once I lost the trail and just stuck to the river until I found it again. Also to note, you have to cross the river at Nice Mill. Not really a problem on a horse, but definitely inconvenient on foot, but hay, it is a HORSE TRAIL after all.
Thanks for the info!
What river is that following there. I'm in west Tennessee I may need check that out sometime I assume there is camping there somewhere to I guess
It's following East Fork Stones River. I'm pretty sure there's some camping up at Percy Priest, but idk about anywhere near the trail. I'll update you tomorrow.
The Twin Forks Trail follows alongside the Eastern Fork of the Stones River. There is no official camping for horsemen. Just a day ride trail open from dawn to dusk.
Liquid paraffin and epsom salts are very good.
Best colic video i ever watched!
Awesome. Glad it was helpful
Omg I ain’t going to lie I live in Jamestown TN and I have seen you before lol
Hi again!
...give your horses and generous ration of bran everyday and watch your colic problems lessen significantly...
It can kill. Many horse people don't know the symptoms. At times even horse experts must call a vet. ASAP.
True
Great kit. What do you carry on your person other than the Garmin in Reach?
I keep a compass, multi tool and phone on me.
@@TNhorsetrailsno handgun?
Not always. Depends on where I ride.
Hey have you ever gone to the Buffalo river?
Laurel hill has the little Buffalo. We’ve camped there several times. I haven’t been to Buffalo River Trail Rides.
Beautiful campground. Hello Reggie (I think that's what you said his name was)
Thanks for watching!
Are there bathhouses by chance?
There sure are.
You did great. One miss was you should check the upper quadrant of the gut for sounds at the base of the cecum as well as the lower when checking for gut sounds. You can also listen for a possible sand colic by listening to the underside of the belly approximately eight inches behind the girth. Using a stethoscope would be necessary here.
I went to east fork stables last October 2022,it's amazing,, the cabins are very clean and comfortable, trails are amazing, can't wait to go back
We enjoyed our visit too!
Thank you
OMG! Why would someone do that?? So despicable!!
Great video and really helpful for someone who's just getting into horses! Thank you!!
Glad it helped!
Amazing, it's on my list
Why someone would do that is absolutely beyond me.
Lock it not pin it
Evil people POS..!!
