Hi! I'm an independent Stampin' Up! demonstrator in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada, sharing my love of paper crafting for creative therapy for all! I'm sharing my Facebook Live videos where I make cards live for my crafting community and I refer to it as "Reality Crafting" -- because you know, mistakes can happen when you're crafting and having fun! TECHNIQUE TIME! Alcohol Ink blending is an easy way to create a unique background!
Welcome to This or That Thursday! (a.k.a. Reality crafting)
This week I CASE'd a card (apologies, I just can't remember who and can't give credit) but changed it up to use the birds from the Flight & Airy DSP, plus created my own background using the alcohol ink technique.
Here's the details:

Simply Zinnia stamp set
Flight & Airy DSP (retired)
Scalloped Contours dies (retired)
Blends markers
Isopropyl Alcohol (99%)
INK & PAPER COLORS:
White
Black
Fresh Freesia

* Lost Lagoon with Soft Succulent blends)

My granddaughter graduated high school in June. She is going to Poland for a a couple weeks to visit an exchange student she became close friends with and then off to college. Very proud of her, but sad (for me) that she won’t be nearby to see everyday. Oh well, I guess we have to let them spread their wings and fly.

This is so cute! If you glued the purple grid paper down first could you just stamp the cat on both the dsp and white at once or would that not look right/ not line up ok?

I love this technique. I make about 200 Christmas cards, and this makes it go quick and easy.

I did this technique not long ago. I think this is a good way to make a set of cards if you want to make a gift. I would like to see the other option you had too. That is the one I would have chosen.

Hi, do you have a Stampin' Up! paper trimmer? It has measurements all the way down to 1/16".

@@PaperCreationsWithKaren Though stamp it up trimmers are way too expensive
@@sworley1956 I had 3 trimmers and didn't think I needed a Stampin' Up! trimmer. But its features and benefits won me over and it's a high quality product which I'm very happy with.

Hi, Karen. I did a quick Google search, and there are quite a few videos using the search terms ‘rehydrating’ or ‘refreshing’ ink pads. I only watched one, but it was by a Stampin’ Up demonstrator. She said SU ink pads are water based, so all she did was use a small spray bottle, and spritzed the pad with water. One of the viewers commented it’s best to use glycerin, not just plain water. If you’re using pigment ink, instead of water based, then include that in your search term.

That turned out better than I thought! This is really cool. Imagine doing this with like a plastic keychain instead of a card though, that would be even cooler I think. Maybe there are some kits for that? 52:76 there are even multiple cards! Adorable.
No kits for keychains but you could try making your own?! I hear creativity at work!

The "Where did I put it?" is very relatable! 😅 Thank you for the tip for moving the ink on an extra juicy stamp pad. I have several pads like that, and it's frustrating when images don't stamp clearly. I love how the crab turned out!

I like this card. However, instead of fussy cutting the candles, I'd probably cut them out using a circle die larger than the small opening. Easier to manipulate that way.
