Going through our old family videos, we discovered this Mini-Concert I performed for the Logan Institute students at Utah State University in early 2000. The entire concert was an hour long, but we’ll throw in a few clips for the next few months on “Throwback Thursdays” :). And please go easy on me, I obviously don’t do comedy for a living...

I loved this back when I was 4 (now too, but then too too)
Love John Bytheway!!!
I loved listening to this growing up!!
Eric
This warms my heart!
So great 😂
Wow wow wow. It never occurred to me that John Bytheway had… aged at the same rate I have LOL. I’ve been out for awhile but sometimes the nostalgia of this silliness is so comforting. Thanks, John.
I seriously need this on spotify please
Victor ny
This goes out to Sean Rucker
I think your song parodies are hilarious. Your comedy is just too good for the standards of the world. Only your fellow LDS (Like me... even though I am inactive) members would and still will appreciate it. To the rest of the heathens, it would go right over their heads! LOL! You're awesome, By the way! 😉
John is the best.
Hey, this is awesome!! But it's fuzzy and we're unfortunately missing some of it. Would you mind putting the lyrics to the songs up? Thanks!!! We're lovin' it!!
I actually like Cherry 7up better.
Lol 😂.love it
Love it 😅
I love that song SO much
During the Jordan River Temple open house in October 1981, we were standing in the long line waiting to go into he Temple, and a group of young men were singing a bunch of "modified" Primary songs and I remembered the Hand song (only the first verse) and have sung it to my kids and others through the years. It was fun to find this video! I guess we got a pre famous performance. Thanks for your example and spiritual incites throughout the years.
I would pay big money for the original "Bytheway ... It's John" Cassette tape that came out in 1991!!! The one with "She's On the Phone" and "the Wilkinsen Center" on it! - John - Are there any existing copies left? I have so many teenage memories from the 90's listening to that and it kills me that I have no idea where it went.
I've been looking for it too!
excellent parallels to life! Take things one step at a time and build on it until you've built something amazing! ... Thanks for keeping this 43 year old steered in the right direction since I was 12 listening to your counsels, insights, easy to understand explanations of eternal principles and amazing humor woven throughout. Millions will call your name blessed one day brother! You changed my sisters life 20 years ago. She was on a bad path and made an Alma the Younger eternal turn around after listening to "First Solo." most sincerely.... THANK YOU!!!!!
Someone did a parody of ‘You’re not alone’ with ‘I’m on the Phone’. I thought it was John Bytheway... I haven’t heard it in many years... anyone know who or where I can find it?
I’m ooooon the phone!! Why don’t you chill out I’m on the phone?! My sister wouldn’t budge an inch. That heartless winch. She’s on the phone! 🤣😂 I have the cassette tape “Bytheway, It’s John!”
Janel Andersen Yes! That’s what I was thinking of. I wonder if I can find that anywhere...
I've started looking for it too, haha
@@FocusingOnChrist IT's on "Bytheway, It's John" the original cassette tape from like 1992. You can find it on TH-cam but DeseretBook doesn't seem to sell it anymore.
I had a whole cassette tape of silly songs and I can’t find it anywhere, but it def had that one on it….
kuya you’re the best :)
Clean up your room, you slob! What a mess! Get a job! You’ll get an avalanche when you open up the door! Your bed’s in there, but you can’t tell where, ‘cause your junk’s piled everywhere! Mounds and mounds of dirty clothes! Moldy crusts from dominos! They’re offensive to my nose! Use a fire hose Look at the shower door! It’s not clear anymore! I wouldn’t touch that thing with a 45-foot pole! There’s toothpaste globs on the hot cold knobs, and a ring around the sink! Fifteen products for your hair, aerosol instead of air, if you light a match in there, You won’t have a prayer. Kaboooom
We still haven't played dualling banjos John--someday perhaps. Your old friend Curtis Castillow
I used to have a tape with all of these songs on one side. Do you know what the name of it was? I’d love to share this with my kids
ThriftMouse It’s called “bytheway, it’s John”
Can I get the lyrics somewhere? And maybe possibly definitely publish it?
I can't quite make out all of the words, maybe someone else can fill in the blanks? This is what I got: Clean up your room you slob, what a mess, get a job. You'll get an avalanche if you open up your door. Your *something's* in there but you can't tell where cos you just pile everywhere. Mountain mountain dirty clothes, mouldy crust from domino's, you're offensive to my nose use a fire hose. Look at the shower door, it's not clear anymore, I wouldn't touch that thing with 45 foot pole. There's toothpaste blobs in the *something* knobs in a ring around the sink. 60 products for your hair, aerosol instead of air, if you light a match in there you won't have a prayer *fwoosh*
I was at that concert and this song stuck with me. Now I have kids of my own and have sung this version to them many times over the years.
When/where was it?
@@venomrogue1 It was at Utah State University in early 2000.
Clean your room
This song made my wife having to pull over because she was laughing so hard

Ok. That's amazing I need to learn how to play the banjo.
l love it!
HES MY DAD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I saw him 4 minutes ago NO JOKE
Is he the same in private as on stage? I mean behaviour-wise.
Thanks for starting my Thursday off with a laugh!!! :D
Unfortunately John Bytheway couldn't make that song about Sierra Mist, it wouldn't fit.
Made me LOL. Awesome! :)
Thanks for bringing a smile to my face! :)
Fun memories! Thank you for sharing! I still have your cassette Bytheway, It's John. Planning to properly indoctrinate my children soon.
John Bytheway is amazing, I just saw him at BYU
