Kia Stinger Custom Drive Mode Select and ISG off
มุมมอง 1K10 หลายเดือนก่อน
The Kia Stinger automatically selects ECO or Comfort drive modes and turns auto start/stop (ISG) on every time the car is started, independent of how it is set when the car is turned off. I've added a relay module that sets the car to Custom and turns off ISG when the car starts. These relays create button clicks when the car is started. They can be made to select any drive mode at start. Instr...
Mx-5 Miata Seat Foam Replacement
มุมมอง 41711 หลายเดือนก่อน
2001-2005 Miata seats (referred to as "surf boards") are higher backed and therefore a little safer than the seats that came before. They're also nice looking so I'm installing them into my 1996 Miata. The downside of these seats is that they raise the seating position in the car. In this video, I replace much of the higher density seat foam with low density foam to drop the seating position in...

2021 WL Toys 104001 Comparison with the 2018 XRay XB4

This is a little video to compare the WLToys 104001 to the 2018 version of the Xray XB4. The 104001 is a very close clone of the XRay, allowing the buyer to get the handling and adjustability of the XRay of a few years ago at a much lower price. There are, of course, quality and performance differences, but the "bones" of the WLToys car are based on a very high end machine. Please note that whi...

How do you get wifi? Did it come with a wifi antenna?
Yes, it comes with a wifi antenna
Ironically, I’m using this video to help me undo someone that adjusted it to the right! Just feels odd to me.
This helped a great deal installing one in our outback. Thanks for making the video.
Where is can you get it??
What kind of battery I need for mines I’m upgrading this my first RC I’m doing everything over
Thanks for the video. Im not sure ill have the skills to do it on my on, but I'll give it a try!
Block tonneau cover at all?
Nice video, thx. One question, can you remove the left sided widget completely from the screen?
@@Blackshett Thanks! I think the widget is part of the system skin. I haven't tried disabling it. I usually use Android Auto so it normally isn't on the screen for me.
@@justaddafan oh, I'm bothered by the widget, Now I have an erisin from 2017 but it's getting more and more broken
Hello ! really appreciate this type of ``tip`s video`` !!so are we ok that all the front end (all front of car goes on the wltoys 104002? im searching a full front and rear set for it,if the xray xb4 is totally a copy 100%,for me beginner its totally perfect. thank you in advance for the answer(and sorry for my pretty basic english!!)
I can't promise that it's drop-in. Also be aware that the 2021 and newer XB4 has many changes to the dog bones and hole pattern in the transmission that make it different from the WLToys. Truthfully, it would not make sense to put anything XRay onto a WLToys car, the XRay parts are far too expensive to use on a cheap car.
I wish one for my legacy 2006, where I can find it ? Do you have a link?
Hello, I know this is a long shot since the video is older, I have the exact same unit as you but I have plugged in all the cables and the unit works (Apple CarPlay) but no sound comes through the speakers, my stereo still has my audio through the stock radio station (Am/Fm) on the Macintosh unit. Any help would be appreciated
I see that you switch to Aux for your audio to work however I'm form Australia and we don't have Aux functionality. Has anyone had the same issue
@@isaacraggatt6456 I have the same problem!
Sometimes I get a “Lost connection to rear camera” message on startup/park and occassionally in Drive. Toggling between these and Reverse eventually fixes it, but anyone have any idea why this is happening?
can you get the functions of the inbuilt unit still? fuel economy, trip computer, voltage, service intervals etc?
Maybe. You can either find a place to mount the stock display visibly or you can find an OBD2 program that will show that information and an OBD2 reader.
You could explain how to pass the main unit through the axuliqr of the android, that is to say, the reverse of what you did..
Interesting idea. Not a route that I would go.
@@justaddafan Why wouldn't you take that route?
@@desayuno_ The biggest reason is that I like to have the volume knob.
@@justaddafan Could you teach me how to pass the audio from the original radio through the android auxiliary?
Is it possible to hook this up with an aftermarket pioneer radio?
Amazing. So except for the slipper diff in the center, you're basically getting a seven hundred dollar car for a hundred and fifty bucks, minus the quality.
More or less. The quality and weight are a big deal though.
But the cool thing is little by little you could basically end up with a WLtoys 104001 or 2 running some nice parts. Thanks for the video. Cheers.@@justaddafan
So dumb question will this work in a 05 outback ll bean
This is an LL Bean
IF YOU HAVENT GOT A SOLDERING IRON OR SOLDER SUCKER,YOU COULD USE A PIN VICE AND A 1MM OR 1/2MM DRILL BIT TO CEAN HOLES .

EVEN THOUGH A PART IS BRAND NEW,DOES NOT MEAN TO SAY ITS OK .I KID YOU NOT.AND MAKE SURE THE BULB SOCKET IS PROPERLY ENGAGED ON THE BULB PINS,CONTACTS.
I fixed this issue in my 2002 Outback by removing the switch, taking off the outer housing to get to the "switchlettes" inside (a bank of different actual switches that control the motion), and spraying each one with some light oil, then spraying the inside of the outer switch housing too (it's like 3-in-1 oil, but in aerosol). Works every time now. Granted, I used the wrong oil, and something like Tri-Flow would have been better, but for a 23 year old car, I figured what the hell...
Do you have a link to the kit?
Sorry, it's been a while so I don't have the link to my exact model but if you search on ebay or amazon you'll find them.
How did you pull or (take out) out the cubby part?
So a Russian toy copied by a Chinese toy maker. Commie helps commie, nuttin’ to see here.
Was able to dix a 2012 Suburu Outback with this video a flathead screwdriver and a very small rachet set. Thank you!!!!
Thanks for the video. Looks as if the 2011 Outback is similar. My switch actually works, but somehow the tab is broken on the inside. I'll see what I can come up with 😅😂
How is that zip tie cutter and scissor work? The right tool for the right job.
It changed my life.
Wow el wltoys es como un rolex chino...
Hi, do you have a new video with the new nifty city Carplay?
The unit is still working great.
I have kind of an odd question: First of all this is exactly how I want to hook up mine (retain OEM stereo function) - Do you have to adjust 2(or 3) volumes with the method? Meaning phone bluetooths or USB’s to CarPlay unit (have a volume setting on your phone), then the new unit is treated as an aux my the old unit so on new unit your adjusting volume, finally on the OEM unit is your “master” volume. I absolutely abhor trying to balance aux in volume on 3.5mm or Bluetooth speakers it’s the master volume. Aka keeping one at 3/4 for the best sound quality and so on. Thanks for making this video
There are separate volume settings for each input in the Android OS and there is also a master volume on the unit (buttons are on the face. You can also adjust the default volume of the AUX relative to the radio in the Subaru head unit. I have them all set more or less at comfortable levels. Now I only manage volume with the main knob on the head unit (or steering wheel buttons)
do you think if you parked the car "nose down" so the master cylinder was level not tilted up, you could use the motive master cylinder bleed function and avoid the bench bleed, or as a secondary bleed in addition the bench bleed?
Maybe. I don't know if there are spots in the mc that would allow bubbles if tilted in the other direction. Bench bleeding isn't that hard to do.
the tripod method didnt over extend the booster and blow and of the seals?
Nope, no issues.
surprising its not in millimeters
Thanks for the comparison! I plan on buying the Penske for my Exige early next year and this video is very helpful. Hope you make another video with an update after he install 👍
I'll provide some driving impressions in the spring. It's not a completely fair comparison considering the Nitron springs are 100 lb/in higher at all corners.
I am under the impression that harder is not necessarily better. In fact you'd better go as soft as possible to get the required result. This will be a good one.
@@lambrosstamos4494 Stiffer springs will give the car a more alert and responsive feeling. It's nice to have that immediate steering response and yaw movement. Softer springs will need a beat before the chassis takes a set and won't feel as connected as it does it. But like everything, there's a balance there. We'll see how I like it.
I've heard that with shocks it's all about fluid movement, and more is better. So that bigger diameter should make a big difference. Great video btw!
I should have pulled out a Bilstein for comparison. It makes the Nitron look fat. The weight between the Nitron and Penske is negligible but they both weigh noticeably less than the Bilstein.
But where did you get the kit?
There are many of them available on ebay and other online retailers.
How did you Pull back that slider pin? After removing the bolt on top. This holds me from swinging the caliper or Im a something else?
The pin that the bolt runs through sits in a little recess. I got it loose by jiggling it a little. Just be careful not to pinch the rubber dust cover, it can be damaged easily.
Can i message you somewhere? I want to ask a few questions and show some pictures about instalation
I don't really have a way of being privately contacted through youtube. If your car is an Outback/Legacy, I'd post the question to one of the facebook groups or forums. If you want to post a video of your car and put the link here, I'd be happy to take a look.
@@justaddafan i think i figure it out. Watched your video more carefully, you did extra step to make your screen play thru aux, i wont do that so my should bet just plug to plug and im good to go. I hope thatshow it works 😀 Anyways, ordered a screen already, i will figure it out somehow
If i have aux button on my radio, but i dont have aux input in my car will my new android head unit work? (I have aux button, no input port in my car, nothing happens when i press aux button) Just plug cables and im good to go? Thinking about instaling android unit with carplay, but im confused if it will work if audio comes from aux input..
How does your radio get the aux input if there is no audio connection? You can either bypass the audio of you stock stereo and use the Android Head unit or you need some kind of aux audio input.
@@justaddafan can i send pictures of my radio somewhere? I have aux button on my radio, but there is no aux input anywhere in my car. I know input is suposed to be in elbow rest between front seats but there is just plastic and no hole for input. So im trying to figure out if i could get carplay or bluetooth working if i dont have aux input in my car from factory
Good video! I might have to try doing this too. I'm not sure if this it the same as my noise, I always thought mine was internal to the transmission but I could be wrong. I have some leftover adhesive sound dampner material from another project, I wonder if that would work as an alternative to the rubber sheeting you showed?
Try disconnecting the cable rod ends from the shift lever and see if you still get the buzz. I chased the noise for years. That was my lightbulb moment. You don't want the isolator to be flexible because you don't want the bracket to be moving when you shift.
@@justaddafan mine is more of an in-gear while driving buzz, are you saying that yours was noticable even at idle? Mine is usually at steady or decelleration in 3rd gear mostly. A few threads on lotustalk indicated it might just be normal transmission gear noise.
@@VincentChiaro Just to make it clear, this only happened after I started upgrading the shifter and cables. The stock setup didn't do it. It buzzed in all gears between about 2500 and 5000 RPM. Worst in 3rd and 4th. I could also get it to buzz when in neutral at these same engine speeds. So I disconnected the rod ends at the shifter and left the cable jackets attached to the abutment blocks. It still buzzed, which indicated that the vibration was being transferred through the cable jacket, not the cable itself.
@ 9:09 you mention you have a "wide off cable" for the antenna, did you custom fit this as my 2007 model doesnt seem to come with that male antenna connector?
Do you lose your fuel mileage readout?
The screen is still hooked up. But it's in the space behind the screen. If you can find a place for it that's readable, you can still use it. I never found it valuable.
Did you have any problems with the passenger airbag light ? Since the indicator is in the old vent unit ?
Yes, you have to keep the LCD screen plugged in to avoid the light. It's tucked in the cubby behind the Android unit on my car.
Thank you for posting this video. I have a 9 inch android system that i want to install, i like my cd player. I got mine off Amazon
Great video. Thank you
Mine is a 2006 Elise with soft touch dash and instead of being held on with Velcro at the back and screws at front it's just held with two bolts underneath
❤ this works! 2006! Thanks so so much!
Subaru seat switches are repairable. Four switch module inside the case have contacts that build up carbon. With care to keep track of the springs and ball bearings inside, it's a DIY job. On our 2005 Legacy GT, the small parts snap together just one way, but take photos as you go.
It's been a long time now so I don't remember why exactly, but I tried repairing mine and it didn't work. The replacement was cheap.
I did this install but the sound seems to not work sometimes, I need to be unplugging and replugging the USB cable to 3.5mm all the time. Do you this situation as well?
I haven't experienced that issue.
