The Chrysler 727 shifted faster than a manual, was the first automatic to out shift all the manuals! The slush box term id for older 1950's-1960's Buicks etc..that were soft and shifting, the Chrysler 727 shifter fast and firm! These cars stock hauled butt high 12' to low 13's with a 440 and 383..Lots of guys swapped the cam and did the heads and ran low 12's and 11 second 1/4 mile cars..0-60 were low to mid 4's to 5 seconds flat stock..The 318 2 barrel ran 7.5 0-60 and mid 15's in the 1/4 via magazine test of a new 68 Charger 318 they even said it was pretty quick.. Reason 383,440 and Hemi cars old road tests times were slower and all over the map is because drag strips were like side streets no traction and 205/70 bias ply tires had no traction some even had 185/75 series and 195 70 series tires! They never had traction..Even the 318 spun a little but hooked up thus good times for a 2 barrel nonperformance engine! Even slicks of the day were only 8 inch and still spun a new minivan has more traction than an old car with 1960's and 1970's slicks!

I had one of these back in the late '80s, courtesy of being on the early IT scene. Enjoyed it hugely; it was like having a turbine up front instead of mere pistons. Took it across Europe many times and loved cruising at 150 MPH on German motorways. Had to stop for fuel 2 or 3 times a day on trips my diesel Range Rover now covers with one stop 🙂

Hi Craig, how's it going with the LS600hL? I have just passed 1 year of ownership of a 2008 model, exactly the same as yours with the RSR package, apart from mine has a black interior. Mine has also done a few more miles, less than 100 miles to go before I hit 200k.

This review IS better than 2 others I have seen, in that they only showed extatic drivers waxing lyrical , and ONLY showing the DASHBOARD. You have shown the lovely seats, front and rear, too! But, what reviewers often neglect, in my view, is to show the interior of the BOOT. Incidentally, does this gorgeous car have a hatchback - and does the back seat fold down?

They do look great in dark colours with those alloys (so much better than the pepper pots). Buy The Equalizer (series) box set and enjoy Edward Woodward wafting around New York in a black XJ6...

I've owned a very original 1969 Europa for 50 years. If I smell petrol I would not be driving it. Something is seriously wrong.

What happened to the original steering wheel? Incredible! This is a bleedin' modern wheel. It shuld be confiscated from this barbarian. Also, the paint is badly maintained, headlights are foggy ... Anyway. They'ree not as comfortabke as legend would have it. Terribly noisy, jus like the DS. Now have a look at the Rover P6.

The floor console shifter was optional across the entire range of Chargers in 1968 for manual or automatics.

Coming From another country with some beautiful classics. We well real drivers of muscle 💪 cars drive manuals…. !!! In AUSTRALIA And possibly America it was the 289 68 Mustang that was the Blue print for those family lines of Muscle car DNA..🇺🇸🇦🇺❤️👍👍🇬🇧 Fkg cool car. Yes a Highway car as she throws you around the seat a it. Bucket seats would have fixed that. But that’s the cars beauty. The Torque in the 440 goes up hills like your going down them. I’m sorting 3 at present of the Bullitt R/T Model. But I’ll be restoring 2 with a parts car. Not long now. I’m 50 and I’ve driven some real fast Muscle cars. But this car is very very addictive..👍👍👍💪💪

For me it was the 70 Charger RT SE. the 68 and the 69 were awesome. But I just loved that 1970 model. ❤️ A buck sixty without breathing hard. Bad to the bone.
