Hi,
I've been playing guitar since May 1983 and started playing in LA punk bands in High School, by my early 20s I was gigging and doing recording sessions and teaching guitar, Jazz, Flamenco_Spanish guitar and everything in between.
I grew up in Orange County, CA. I lived in San Francisco 1998 to 2007, moved to NYC 2007 to 2013, 2014 to 2023 in New Orleans and now based in Nashville since Spring of 2023. I feel all these towns have helped shaped my styles, approach and never ending repertoire. I do love to improvise and have a physical book with 200 of my own original compositions.
I'm always do to interact here and answer questions and shall start doing more lesson/tips style videos soon.
Thank you,
Shan Kenner

I've owned many Strats and still have a few, this one I bought in Brooklyn from my landlord for $15, it was all dirty and a broken cable coming from the jack. I strung it up to flip online and plugged it in and was utterly blown away, obviously I still have it - it gets that viscous SRV Tone and stays in tune super well. #srv #stratocaster

1900 Salvador Ibanez hand-built guitar. I just had the nut filed and really ideal action and tone, plays wonderfully and huge sound. I'm using a Bartlett Audio clip mic which I really like alot, cell phone recording otherwise. #acousticmusic #acoustic #guitar #fusionguitar #acousticguitar

A rad Parts Caster aka switch caster taking me places on a harmonic journey with Lydian and other type voicings. I'm playing straight into mid 80s Peavey Studio Pro 40 amp (great amps to keep an eye for)

Hey, thanks for the demo..What do u think of tune scale? I just received mine. Neck and bridge tune knobs not exactly giving me the full scale of 0-10..or very minor. Instead, it feels like either 10 or 0 which is quite noticeable ? Thanks in advance

Asked the same question at your another video :D sorry for that
@alienprojectlevent Hey! Thanks for asking however. what do you mean by tune scale? Tuner gear ratio or intonation? I've had no issues with either on mine. Stringjoy strings are really a game changer on this guitar. Thanks
@@SK__Guitar777 Hej there, I meant intonation when you turn the tune knob/cap of the guitar. It's a very subtle difference on my end.
the brand name of the guitar is literally written on the headstock
You're welcome
Just wow!
@@MohamadIbrahim-j7p Thank you!
You're looking so chill whilst cranking out amazing guitar licks and chords
Thank you for stopping by and your positive words, all the best from Nashville, TN!
14:06 could fall asleep to the chords from here, so peaceful😌 lovely guitar, thinking about selling my ibanez rg and getting this one, thanks for the follow up/demo!✨
@koya7713 Thank you for reaching out! I was playing this guitar yesterday and was a blast. They go pretty affordable used for sure. Also check out my Instagram page. Thanks! instagram.com/s_k_guitarist?igsh=dmt5Ynl3ZzNtNDRq
Your playing always makes me happy
@@losthwy Thank you!
One of 'the Guitaristas' review noticed a flimsy tone-control !!! New pots are recomendable; this guitar deserves it. Playability seems to be OK, finishing & price aswell. . I personally love to see Gibson is kicked in the nuts; Markula Agnesi and his bullying & lawsuits towards Dean Guitars. If you're loaded go please to Heritage - avoid Nashville.
Open Door to return to NOLA😅
hello ❤️
So cool !
Thank you!!!
I also have one of these guitars and love it ,but i really liked what you did with it expressive playing with great touch and those microtonal bends sounded great.
Nice to receive your positive comments, Thank you!
Cool
Nothing wrong with a bright neck pickup you can always roll the tone off if it's to bright
I find the neck Pickup is warm and versatile. I don't recall saying it's bright anywhere in this video, that being said using volume & tone knobs on P90 pickups delivers endless tones and eq possibilities.
Great sound!! Nice playing!!
Thank you!!
Wow, very cool, great playing.
Thank you!
Omg...that playing is so annoying.....
That sounds and looks cool.
Thanks for checking this out!
Love your playing! You're very talented! Congrats! If you have time I'd like to hear your thought : I'm considering buying a L7 or L7V do you think that there is a real step up with the pickups of the L7V and deserve the extra money? (I'm a jazz guy who play clean tone only.)
Thank you! The L7 with humbuckers probably be your best choice as the L7V P90s are amazing yet they hum like P90 pickups like too. My IG page instagram.com/s_k_guitarist?igsh=dmt5Ynl3ZzNtNDRq
@@SK__Guitar777 Thanks for the tip! (Keep going the good work! It helps a lot.)
@@SK__Guitar777 A week later… I just receive my L7 in black and I just love it! Neck pick-up is warm and mellow as I never listen to. Thank you a thousand times for your piece of advice. I'm deeply grateful to you.
@@JohnFred1964 That is wonderful news and a great color choice too! I'm very happy for you and your new guitar!

Thanks so much!!

N'importe quoi.
No heating system in the house ?
Why you give a fux? Lets see your guitar videos ya so great n all.
Pity they didn't stick with 22 frets like the originals....😢😢
What's wrong with having more frets? You don't have to use them.
You’re such a legend Shan. ❤ the guitar babies in background
Thank you!!
Sounds really cool 😎👍👍👍
Thanks so much!
First go to school and learn guitar , you playing about shit my friend
There are so many really good less expensive guitars out these days. I have a ssire s7 and its fantastic. Two Eastmans, more expensive but OUTstanding guitars for a 3rd of the price. Ill probably never go back to Gibson or Fender honestly
Sounds like a nice collection you are embracing. Eastman are great! This Sire L7V is definitely a keeper. We live in a magical era of guitar manufacturers, I do fancy vintage amps, not super old yet pre 1980 into the 1960s yet love the abundance of guitar pedals available today. Thank you 😊
Great!! 👍👍
Thank you!!
Fantastic 😎👍👍👍

Dude you can play, like to hear you in a band setting.
Thank you. There's some group clips on my IG page and my TH-cam channel. instagram.com/reel/C2oFlTVuYKQ/?igsh=eHIxemxzZ3E2aHQ0
Your playing wipes the listener’s mind free of fear and impurities. You are no ordinary guitar player on TH-cam, you must be a session player or an experienced pro player no ordinary mortal can play like this.
Thank you, yes - I'm actually down in New Orleans doing a studio session yesterday & today. I appreciate you!
This is the video that has convinced me to buy one of these models! 😂
Nice! I hope you're enjoying the guitar as much as I do mine.
great playing

Do you think the tele or Strat version would be better for ambient stuff? Also experimental and alternative , thanks !
I feel the Tele is more suited for such, I acquired a new 2023 American Pro ii Telecaster in October with a Roasted Pine Body and maple fingerboard and that guitar has such an edge and can get warm Jazz tones too. Thank you!
love
hey guess what I hit the like button and it doesn't register..lol
