This is definitely one of your best tracks.
I also found this from PrimeThanatos. It really stands out from the rest of the tracks. I had to come over here and leave a like.
the monologue i prefer as the most direct raw one of the 4 the monotribe even is a bit better than the monologue.mho
Amazing!
Thanks for the video. I don't know if you checked the frequencies in DAW, but to my ears on the dt 770 pro headphones I hear more low frequencies in OG. You can hear it best at the beginning of the video. Is this my hallucination, or is it possible that the digital signal path in XD cuts off the lowest band, e.g. to make the reverbs sound clearer? This sounds like an identical VCO to me, only with a high-pass filter. I just bought XD, and it intrigues me a bit. :)
Hey, thanks so much for stopping by. It's not something I paid massive attention to at the time but I kinda agree with you, the low end on the OG is a bit more prominent.
very nice
Can you explain how you did it ?
Hey, thanks for dropping by. Literally for this performance all I did was turn on the AFX mode, hit play on the drums then improvised it all. It's very, very simple. AFX mode, record 32 steps, hit play on the 32 step sequence and then just tweaking. This video shows it a little simpler. th-cam.com/video/agwgk_OpyNI/w-d-xo.htmlsi=xBgrG8UeLf35heRH
That’s powerful
Hey, thanks so much for dropping by, appreciate it 👍🙏
So good! I've had mine about a month now and I'm so tickled that I chose this to be my first synth. I was thinking of making a printout that had a visual representation of the different rhythms.
Hay, thanks so much for stopping by. Yeah the rhythms on the BS2 are so good. Enjoy your time with it.
The OG has a nicer sweep. But XD has user oscillators and can give you a plethora of useful features that the OG lacks.
Totally agree, great synth 🙏👍
really awesome performance👍 of course subscribed 😁🤍☮
Ah man, thanks so much for taking a look we really appreciate it 👍
This is so sick! 👍🏻🙌🏻👏🏻 Subbed! BTW, just ordered one and can’t wait to play around with it!!! 😃
Hey, thanks so much for dropping by, really appreciate it. Hope you enjoy the BS2 as much as we have over the years 👍👍
Can't wait to hear the full version 😍😍
Thanks so much, really hope you like it and that it's finished in time 😂👍
What's the best sorta synth for making Jake Stauber/c418-ish music :)
Thanks for dropping by, the synths in Jake Stauber stuff sound like either old 80's digital synths or replications of them in VST's. Could pick up a 2nd hand Casio or something like that maybe but sure you could get them type of sounds on almost any multi oscillator synth.
Different FX, I know … but it does seem as if the XD is a touch more polite (more in-tune, maybe), than the og … 🤔. But then, I’ve heard others say they think the og sounds slightly hollow, by comparison to the XD … 🤷🏻♂️ Not a lot in it, though, either way … 2:33 … 3:10 2:25 … 3:02
I would probably agree that the XD sounds more polite and in tune, maybe slightly tamer.
0:13 … 3:06 0:33 … 3:28 0:49 … 3:43
Thanks for time stamps man 👍
That's a really nice sounding patch.
Thanks man, really appreciate you coming over and taking a look and listen 👍👍🙏🙏
what did you use for the drum beat ?
It's just something I've made in Ableton, more than likely 909 samples. Thanks for dropping by and taking a look.
That is excellent.
Hey Eric, thanks so much for dropping by and taking a look, really appreciate it 👍👍
Nice work my friend. The choice of image matched the song very well. Congratulations.
Hey, thanks so much for dropping by and taking a look. We really appreciate it 👍🙏
how do you record?
Hey, thanks for dropping by. At the time this was recorded using a Scarlett 2i2 and then in to Bandlab, I've since switched over to Ableton Live for all recording purposes.
@@TheOceanBeneath Thanx, but what I ment was how do you use the record knob on the bass station and how do you play that recording back
@@djghettofunk2530 No worries, if you look top left corner you'll see I have the record enabled from the beginning with the steps going up with every key press or click of the rest/legato buttons. When the phrase is complete and I want to playback switch from record to playback and enable arp/latch buttons then hit the the key of the first note for your sequence to play from there. Hope that better explains for you.
Wonderful, glad I found you in the end
Hey, I'm really glad you found us too. Thanks for your time 🙏🙏
You managed to combine 90s house, early 2000s electro and 2010 dance in 1 song. This will definitely blow up
Hey David, thanks so much for dropping by and taking a listen. I really appreciate your time and your comment as that is literally a big part of what we aim to do. Fingers crossed it gets to more people and again thank you so much 👍👍
Great sounds mate!
Hey, thanks so much for taking the time to come and have a listen, really appreciate it 👍👍
@TheOceanBeneath no worries mate :)
Красиво
Thank you so much 🙏
I just like monotimbral bass sounds myself.
Thanks for taking a look 🙏
😮 crazy I have this unit and did not know it could do this. I mainly use it for live performance. Thanx nice job
Hey, thanks so much for taking a look and glad you learnt something new 🙏
Jrhd
Thanks 👍
XD does sound ‘better’ to me (and pitch bends seem easier/smoother with the joystick) … but do miss both the sweep squelch and 4-pole option of the OG 😢 … Is that ‘squelchiness’ there in both filter modes … ? Cheers!
Hey man, thanks so much for dropping by. The joystick is hands down the single feature that is 100% better than the original, not even up for deabte. The OG pitch bend is so clumsy in comparison.
@@TheOceanBeneath Thanks for that! I’ve heard someone complaining that the joystick came off easily (I assume they meant the cap/perhaps it became threadbare)?
@@kierenmoore3236 yeah I've seen a couple of people saying that as well. To be honest had mine since launch and it's absolutely fine. Maybe some heavy handed players.
Not sure if bass sounds were thr right choice for testing a filter
Couple people had asked for comparison on the bass sounds with the filter as the last one I did a pad style sound but yeah there is better ways to show off a filter 👍👍
The OG and the Prologue sound quite different and for me, the most pleasing. Monologue never interested me and the xd I sold because it didn't sound right to my ears.
Hey, thanks so much for dropping by. The OG and Prologue are both great, the drive on the filter of the Monologue can't be overlooked though, especially if you start getting in to squelchy 303 style stuff. 👍
oh yes that the stuff
Hey, thanks so much for dropping by and watching, really appreciate it 👍
This was tough … I think, the Prologue’s filter sounds best (definitely smoothest); but the XD filter is just as good, maybe better!! (seems to rip a little harder!)… but I want all the resonance/squelch of the OG Minilogue’s filter, too (and, more than that, its 4-pole mode)🥲 … Still, ❤️ XD & Prologue ❤ win, for mine. (Clearly, the Prologue and XD filters (and maybe Monologue’s too) are super similar, and it’s moreso their oscillators that are making them sound different 🤔). 🤷🏻♂️ - ie, the monologue filter sounds rougher, maybe, but that is actually due to the design/tuning of its MONOSYNTH oscillators, versus those designed for the others (all POLYSYNTH) … ?
It's a great point and totally agree, thanks for stopping by and taking the time to have a look, really appreciate it 👍
Amazing mate love it. G
Cheers pal 👍👍
Not really at its best.. more like "at its simplest"
Hey thanks for dropping by and taking a look, appreciate it 👍👍
Amazing track deserves more views !
Thanks so much for this, and thank you for listening, we really appreciate it 👍
🎶
🎹
Great track!!!
Thank you so much 👍
Nice!!! very pleasing sound!!! glad to have found your channel!
Hey, thanks so much for taking a look and listen, really appreciate it 👍👍
I have the Monologue and the Minilogue xd between the 2 ,I feel the Monologue filter is a bit more pronounced and aggressive! The XD is a bit aggressive but just tiny bit less than the Monologue, But Mono synths are known to be more gritty and aggressive.
Yeah totally agree, the Mono filter is amazing 👍
mate would you send me the preset? I loved it
Shall load it up and see if I've still got the preset or try recreate it for you.
@@TheOceanBeneath I would appreciate it 👏🏻
Hey @danssun I didn't have the original version of the patch so I've put something very close together. Hopefully you can tweak it from there to your liking. Download here -> www.dropbox.com/scl/fi/eajy1sl5arctstjp95vqi/Warm-Brass.mnlgxdprog?rlkey=2axaiutoequrah3xsdv82qzbp&dl=0
@@TheOceanBeneath thank you for taking the time 👏🏻 ! I’ll load it to my synth now
Minilogue filter and especially resonance part is designed very differently than the other logues. Perhaps less ideal for large filter sweeps and more to get unique sounds with at more subtle sweeps. Also Minilogue 4-pole filter from what I can gauge from various videos might be more useful in Minilogue because of tendency of it to produce high pitched sounds with resonance while other logues seems to already do more lowpass filtering when engaging resonance. Out of presented synths I would not replace my Minilogue filter with anything but having switch to change filter to gritty deeper sounding Monologue filter would be pretty sweet!
Hey, thanks so much for dropping by and having a look at our channel. Having 2 filters on the Minilogue would be absolutely amazing 👍
I have this synth and a lot of vst synths. Still this synth excels at huge sound and pads. Still not need for another hard synth.
Hey man, thanks so much for dropping by, really appreciate it. Totally agree as well, just been making some new patches on this and the sound I'm currently working on for a video is absolutely unreal 👍👍
After Prologue 16 vst sounds like kids😂
Very nice! Im still trying to figure out the different rythm selections on the sequencer. The descriptions i read where a bit "acidy" mayby i should just go with the flow, the knob is stepless so i should try sweeping the knob during long sequence lines.
Thanks so much for dropping by and taking a listen, really appreciate it. Definitely just play with the rythm knob, basic understanding is less notes to the left and more to the right 😂😂
Nice to listen to
Thank you so much for taking the time out of your day to take a listen, appreciate it 👍
I've had the prologue for about 2.5 years now and it never fails to impress me. Great sounds you've got here!!
Thanks so much for dropping by and taking a look, really appreciate it. Absolutely couldn't be without this synth now 👍👍
Good sound!
Hey, thanks for listening. Really appreciate it 👍
What is the first patch
Hey, thanks for dropping by 👍 Pretty sure it's just both oscillators set to a fairly simple saw wave.
Nicely done
Thanks so much, really appreciate you taking a look and listen 👍👍
