"Life Begins" | Live Ambient Modular Synthesizer Music | Behringer System 100 and Intellijel Sealegs
The performance titled "Life Begins"-a live ambient modular synthesiser composition using the Behringer System 100 and Intellijel Sealegs-offers a deep exploration of sonic landscapes through modular synthesis. The modular synth setup allows the artist to create a dynamically evolving soundscape, where tonal shifts and textural layers arise organically from the interaction between various modules. This method of composition embraces chance, as subtle changes in voltage, signal routing, and modulation can yield unpredictable outcomes, reflecting the influence of pioneers like Karlheinz Stockhausen and Morton Subotnick in the electronic avant-garde.
'Life Begins' connects with broader discussions about the role of technology in reshaping musical traditions. While modular synthesis may seem far removed from traditional music-making practices, its inherent unpredictability echoes the improvisational nature of many oral traditions worldwide. Also, space and timbre take precedence over melody and rhythm in terms of ambient music. The slow unfolding of sounds, punctuated by subtle modulations and evolving textures, mirrors the natural processes of life itself. It creates an immersive auditory environment that reflects the complexity of existence, where order and chaos, structure and randomness coexist.

I feel like I must have had a stroke or a head injury. I could swear I heard you repeatedly say "permanent patch." You might be interested in a desktop synthesizer. They come permanently patched. And without the hassle of ever having to patch it and with no cables, that could be your jam.
For those of you who don't speak Indo, Kalimantan is also known as Borneo. The Sape sounds delightful.

Yep, but I can't remember which preset that was. Just tweak the knobs and set whichever you like.

well in my view they are always stealing architectures/ideas from other brands, undercutting on price and flooding the market with their gear … some of us think that’s just unethical

This is actually what I've been hoping for in the next firmware update; it would be fantastic if T-1 could do that. Also, at the moment, it's only one custom scale, which is pretty limited.

So, I finally just caved in. Bought it. Right now, I have a 90HP6U with Morphagene and Rings as focus, but since I have got back to music production. Majority use audio samples and sample them with morph going to magneto/clouds. This is what I definitely need it to have a Morphagene focus case. Several modules have to go, but its ok 🎉

Thank you for this video and also part 1. I had been thinking about getting one of these and these videos are very helpful. Also, it’s nice that the music you make is a joy to listen to. One thing, if you do make another video, I’d love to hear more longer passages where you let us hear a blend of the original and resynthesized sounds to get a better idea of how they might interact. For my own personal use I plan to have both the original “dry” sounds and the effected sounds brought into the live sound system. I’m grateful for your sharing of experience. I hope you keep making more videos like this.

How's your first impression so far?
I'm far to experiment all the possibility with this module, it's very interesting with granular sampler and wavetable&FM synth. I like very much the presets recording to. A one of is kind module....
