Chaturdashi, beginning around 10:30 AM on Tuesday and continuing into Wednesday morning. The celebrations, which mark the conclusion of the Ganesh festival, invite devotees to bid a heartfelt goodbye to their cherished deity.
The streets of Pune were alive with fervent chants of "Ganpati Bappa Morya, Pudhchya Varshi Lavkar Ya," as devotees expressed their hopes for Ganpati's return next year.
Simultaneously, the phrase "Ganpati Gele Gavala, Chain Padena Amhala" echoed the collective longing felt as the beloved god departed. By midnight, the immersions for the five prominent 'Manache Ganapati' - Kasba Ganapati, Tambdi Jogeshwari, Guruji Talim, Tulshibaug and Kesariwada - along with the renowned Shrimant Dagdusheth Halwai Ganesh Mandal, had been successfully completed.
While the immersions of these iconic mandals concluded, several others were still scheduled to proceed as of Wednesday morning, ensuring that the celebrations extended well into the day.
The police were on high alert, closely monitoring the processions to ensure compliance with regulations on noise pollution and the use of high-intensity beam lights, for which they had issued prohibitory orders.
As Pune bid farewell to Ganpati, the city united in a colorful and emotional celebration, reflecting the deep cultural significance of this beloved festival. The heartfelt processions not only honored the deity but also showcased the vibrant spirit of the community, leaving behind cherished memories until Ganapati Bappa's return next year.
