I love the Philippines and its food, people, and way of life! I am fluent but still learning in Cebuano (Bisayan) and love learning more about this language. I lived in Cebu, Bohol, and Negros from 2005-2007 and love to go back and visit these incredible places and show them to you!
Doljo Beach - Panglao Island Bohol
Doljo Beach is located on the far end of Panglao Island. This beach is typically not as crowded as Alona Beach and thus provides a more serene experience.
This is what we did on our Doljo Beach visit: We went to the Ananyana Resort at Doljo Beach and paid their entrance fee (part of the fee goes towards food). I don't remember the exact cost, but I think it was around 400-500 pesos (about $8-$9 USD) per person at the resort. We hung out at the resort and then wandered around the beach from there.
We came in the morning and it was still low-tide so we couldn't go swimming. But after a few hours of relaxing and eating, the tide came back in and was deep enough for swimming again. We saw lots of fish, starfish, and sea urchins so be careful.
It was a relaxing experience and I recommend you visit!

Pulangbato Falls (red rock) Falls is near Dumaguete City, Negros Oriental, Philippines. The rocks are red and orange due to the sulfur in the water. One of the best parts about this adventure was that the falls weren't as crowded as some of the other waterfalls in the area!

I lived in Balamban for eight months from December 2005 until about late July of 2006. Back then, Balamban didn't have any ATM machines so we had to drive to Toledo City once a week to withdraw money. Food in Cebu has become expensive, Food is cheaper in Metro Manila
