    Great advice. I’ve had PF for 2 years, first in one foot then overnight it traversed to the other. Kinda weird. I’ve been self-treating and have over time come to these stretches you’ve suggested. But, there was lots you mentioned that I just didn’t know. Like the new gentle and consistent. I’ve kinda intuitively believed this, but it really helps to have it reinforced. I think another reason for pf is hip instability. I’ve been following some of your other videos every morning and I’m slowly noticing changes. Thank you so much for your work.

      Thank you for your reply @sophiamary7962 . . . I'm sorry you're in so much pain, and I would definitely advise an In-Person Evaluation with your Physician. Once they determine why you're struggling, a PT can manually (hands on care) get the swelling mobilized and under control. Then regaining flexibility & strength is essential. I hope this helps & Stay Safe!

    Thanks! And thanks for replying so many don’t then we don’t know if doing it right. So, question again, how do I get a straight back.. oh I am so excited to get a plan started! I am 67 and 35 lbs overwt but always have had weak muscles( constant sprained ankles as kid) no both shoulders and hips mostly r snd the knee replaced as said previous.

    • @myptcare
      @myptcare 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I wish it were a "simple formula" to get a straight back, but a curved back can occur for many reasons. I would recommend an IN-PERSON PT Evaluation to get an accurate assessment. To further help you, I would look for a "Manual Therapist" who is able to work on you and get things moving initially. This (usually) involves a combination of "Soft Tissue Mobilization" (muscle treatment), "Joint Mobilization" (joint treatment), and then Stretching & Strengthening exercises. I hope these specific suggestions help . . . You can do it!!

    Wow that’s hard to figure as I have terrible posture, just to say i can put a yoga block behind my head to reach the wall. I had been practicing and my phsyio said put your shoulders back 3x and then still think back as am so rounded(and fwd lean when walk due to tight hips). I then hurt my shoulder and didn’t do my shoulders back as often against the wall and boy my head has gone from my husband getting 2 fingers between wall and my head to almost yoga block again. I totally agree on digestion and breathing being compromised and am practicing daily at the wall. Found you this morning and 3rd video I have watched and saved to add to my routine.

    Fabulous stuff. Thanks. I do Isometric exercises while sitting in airplane, it helps a lot. Feet presses against each other; feet crossed and pull away from each other; pressing out against legs of front chair, etc. Just make some up, feels good and helps circulation. Gentle exercise is helpful for arthritic hips, of which most have some level of bone spurring. Exercise should never cause pain or worsen symptoms. I'm doing most of these exercises because another video showed some but not all of these exercises. My goal beyond strengthening my hips and legs, is to dismount from my horse. I can swing my right leg over the saddle but not back to dismount. My legs are quite unbalanced and my left leg is noticeably weaker. I can clean up after both horses each day and do all other chores but his inability to dismount worries me so much I don't want to ride. Will continued work using these exercises help with my dismount problem? Thank you for your videos.

    • @myptcare
      @myptcare 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Dismounting your horse is such a specific function which could be challenging because of a strength issue, or it could be a mobility issue (e.g. tight hip)? I would consult a PT to find the specific cause of your difficulty with this task. Keep working hard . . . you got this!! 👍

    Thank you for this video! Best discussion of quad sets I've ever seen (and I'm doing them, chair squats too, btw )😊

      Thank you so much for your kind comment @lizb513! Quad sets really helped "jump start" the muscles, after my knee surgery. Glad you're enjoying 👍

    I was wondering if one could over strengthen the quad and not be in balance with the glute. In your rehab were you working on your glute also? I love that toe tip. I always flex them.

    • @myptcare
      @myptcare 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thanks for your comment @stanscher1588! Usually, our goal is weight bearing exercises that work several key muscle groups simultaneously (e.g. glutes, quads, calves), ultimately important for functional activities (e.g. walking without limping). It's best to mix in "isolating exercises" (this video was primarily a Quad isolator) with "multiple muscle group" exercises. I am currently working on a video that trains your whole leg and improves walking strength & endurance - stay tuned & Great Question!! Thank you
