Best affordable strat neck pickup? Manlius v54 😏
Changing my neck pickup to Manlius v54 after spending 12y with the stock one, a very decent korean made single coil. Think PRS S line quality korean pickups.
The outcome is that the top end sounds very musical and seering on leads. The mids are lush and woofy. The low end is just right, I can actually play power chords with full metal gain on the neck and it sounds correct, balanced, nothing unwanted poking out. You cannot realise it without trying this pickup and setting it to the right height, which makes a ton of a difference.

I notice with pedals like these the tone has to come down just a touch if you turn the gain up. Im not to big on pedals though because my combo amps sound pretty good.

I like the fact you’re sharing all this ! I do the same mods but I don’t have any TH-cam video editing skills! lol , another good one to try is a blender mod for your Strat , it’s honestly the best way to go ! Full blender mod ! Uses middle tone knob as master tone and your second knob you can use to blend bridge in with neck and vice versa

Another good one is dual capacitors with the standard Strat wiring if the blend doesn’t float your boat for whatever reason.

IF THEY ARE THE SAME HEIGHT FROM THE STRINGS AND ALL HAVE SAME STRINGS THEY WILL SOUND THE SAME OR THE AVERAGE JOE WONT BE ABLE TO TELL , SO CONCLUSION ITS NOT THE ELECTRIC GUITAR ITS THE PICKUPS THAT MAKE THE SOUNDS, SO PUT GREAT PICKUPS IN A CHEAP GUITAR ELECTRIC IT WILL SOUND THE SAME MORE OR LESS , YES THE ACTION MAY NOT BE AS GOOD, BUT IF THE POTS AND SWITCH ARE DECENT THE SOUNDS WILL BE MORE OR LESS THE SAME
For the average listener, yes. For the musician and the critical listners the tone is given by the woods and everything the strings touch. A strat with a JB in bridge will never sound the same as an Ibanez with the same pickup, for the person playing it.

@@jtu2434 ijust by youtube vids? i'm tweaking guitars for years, i even swab the whole pickguard with pickup attached to 3 different strat with same model and same year, and all of them sounds different, yes of course like @treishtrei said, noob won't be able to tell
@@johansetiawan8925 I have been playing guitar for 30 years. Take the exact same pickup(not same brand and model) out of one guitar and put it in another. Match the string heights and tell me how different they sound. This is science. Wood can not affect how an electromagnet works.
Recording quality made this video a waist of time. A 3/4 scale squire start with stock pickups would have sounded the same
