My opinion is let them make their own decisions. Coming to divorce is a very highly painful decision if they both love and have family values of marriage as an institution. It's sad to be arranged marriages these things happen between two individuals to maintain a long term relationship and having children and not divorce but being forced to live together, if one of the life partner is the bread winner and doesn't have time to share with family and immersed in his own world especially artists have this nature, they live among themselves and do what ever makes them to bring their talent and brain child product. When such talent is used by capitalist business media or cinema or any advertising companies, the commercial rules don't permit family men to be a family man sparing time for their family. Though his wife was married to him laying clear cut conditions of his devotion to music and being occupied and the acceptance of being a housewife taking care of children and family loaded on her was too taxing on his wife. Loneliness kills individuality when young women doesn't get her share of socialising or her values and aspirations too shelved and no one to share sensitivities and her emotions, such lonely women or man in a marriage tend to get sick and depression takes in though they live each other immensely, they are not together physically when they need for emotional togetherness to share the pain and happiness together. It's very sad this happens to the persons who are great people in their own decisions they fail to accept the truths of marriage and commitments they have. Living together and staying happy without kids and part whenever they feel can't get along is a better option for artists of fame , politicians who lead nations and hermits have this attitude too. One has to realise family is living under one roof and having time for everyone. My feeling they both gracefully talk to each other divide the property among the family on equal status and good retirement plans and educational plans and marriage plans and budgets allocated by taking advise from their charted accountants and divide property and stay seperately they need not divorce for being alone suffering isolation. Leave the partner to live on her own or him on his own conditions after separation. Though marriage under muslim law is a contract, financial stability is assured to the divorced wife and kids maintenance is totally on the father. Even if she remarries. The father has the right to his kids. Family laws have their own tricky ways in interpretation. It's not Hindu, Christian or Muslim religion which can keep two individuals living together on force or separate depending on laws, it's the emotional binding, love, money, shelter and safety and upkeep of the children if only one parent is loaded with all kinds of responsibilities . Most cultures practice patriarchy on women. Hindus and Muslims are equal in such practices. A great example is Saudi king Abdullah how he treated his wife's divorced girls tortured and jailed and killed famished for punishing his divorced wife who fled to London. Women in Muslim countries or in Asian countries are not allowed to demand Liberty and live alone. Sorry situations. But in India Muslim, christian, Hindu or any religion we all follow the same culture and patriarchy practiced
