I've noticed in various TH-cam GIMP tutorials that the tutors like "over here". That's ok for viewers who already know what's going on, but newbies often have to fiddle with replay to find where "here" is.

Why don't any of these tutorials explain what to do after the mask is painted???

PNGs can also be used for photos with areas of transparency.

To make an image black and white with GIMP, open the Saturation menu by navigating to Colors > Saturation. In the Saturation menu, bring the saturation slider all the way down by clicking and dragging it to the left.
