ahahah it is a prank!

I was given a iPod classic plus Bose sound docking station. Neither worked. I put a new battery in the iPod but the Bose wasn't working. Turns out that the wiring strip wasn't connected to the docking station base as per your video. Easy to fix and now it all works as new. So assume this was never connected correctly upon manufacturing as it was always temperamental...sorted!

I learned to drive in 88 and met up with a load of lads who lived around there at college. Brings back memories. Much less traffic, cleaner roads (no lines, boxes, cycle lanes and bus stops painted everywhere), no speed bumps, no cameras, much fewer traffic lights and Warrington Road coming down from J25 M6 was a national speed limit road because there was no Sainsbury's, no Mcdonalds etc half way down. The BP petrol station was a Mobil back then. Oh and the disaster of digging up Marus Bridge roundabout and putting lights there is also shown here by the fact you had to wait so long at the lights, you had to put a cut in the recording. Back in the day that roundabout was taken as fast as your car would go round it and stopping was for wimps :)

So weird seeing this how it was as I recognised most of it (especially as I drive through Winstanley, Highfield, Warrington Road and the Pier up to Wallgate quite a bit).

Nice easy fix..your lucky most of these old sounddock 1's have dead capacitors under the heatsheild..(the silver surface mounted ones)

I put an adapter in my 5th Gen iPod with 4x128Gb micro SD cards, so I have around 500Gb in storage now, rather than the 60Gb hard drive it shipped with.

That video in 1987 was taken 3 weeks before I moved away from Wigan. When I think back to 1987 I imagine things looking almost as modern as today but I was shocked at how old things like the cars looked. Looked much earlier than 1987 but clearly wasn't.

Yes you could drive through the town centre but now there is barriers there and you have to go round
