In This Episode
Sydney Ruff, Senior Director of Admissions and Landmark College alumna, joins the program to discuss the school founded explicitly to provide quality higher education options to students with learning differences.
Landmark College is a community designed exclusively for students who learn differently, including students with a learning disability (such as dyslexia), ADHD, autism, or executive function challenges.
Landmark is located in the small village of Putney, Vermont, which Sydney describes as a "quintessential New England town." Landmark also offers online options as well as transition programming to students who need some extra skill development before matriculating to college.
About half of Landmark's students transfer in from other colleges. The student body hails from 38 different states and 10 different countries. Although a small college of around 450 students, Landmark offers six different bachelor's degrees as well as five different associate's degrees.
The schools integrated support approach and 7:1 faculty to student ratio is a successful formula. According to the school's website, 87% of bachelor's degree graduates are employed or in graduate school.
