Glad you liked it - and the narrators and I discussed the dual-narration approach because the point-of-views are specific to each chapter, so it felt right to have a matching narrator depending on the chapter's POV. It's a neat thing that probably isn't commercially viable, as most listeners seem to prefer a single narrator throughout. As to whether this series is based on anything, not in particular, though I'm sure in aggregate it's a product of all the sci-fi (including Alien, which is a great horror/suspense flick that you should see) I've enjoyed over the years. And if the series starts in familiar territory, don't worry, it becomes its own thing as Sever Squad gets deeper into the mystery.

I suppose it depends on your definition - for me / this channel, full cast means I use a different AI voice for all of the characters, making the reading a bit more like an audio drama. There are solo narrator editions (and this series, up through this audiobook, is also professionally narrated and available everywhere) too that don't have the changing voices. But I'm curious - what does 'full cast' mean to you?

I always find that if you speed it up to 1. 2 5 it helps you have to adjust for one second it seems a little fast then it doesn't it's the Cadence it's to metronome

Yes - I have both human and AI generated audiobooks on this channel (and out and about at the retailers). They're both good for different things (and, in the case of the full cast editions, the sheer cost to get enough voice actors in a studio makes it untenable to avoid AI).

The AI often leans that way - it's difficult, though getting easier, to get appropriate emotional dialogue with these systems, which is why I get them narrated by professionals as well. Some folks prefer the straight monotone read, though!

Yeah - this was a problem with some of the voices in these earlier versions. I've been working to correct this in future editions, so hopefully you won't run into that issue in the future. Sorry for the difficulties, but I hope you're still able to enjoy the story!
