    I have a 12k btu ElectriQ and it leaks, so i bought 7k Amcor and it doesn't leak but, it shuts off everytime to be emptied, so to remedy this i just remove the plug at the bottom and let it continuos drain, doesnt shut off anymore. (To combat the leaking 12k Eleriq unit i just attach a hose to the TOP outlet for continous drain, anyhow, they work all year round apart from heatwaves, this units just simply do not work in heatwaves. (it is 90 degrees in my loft right now with BOTH units on, the Amcor unit is around 3 months old)

      Hiya and thanks for the comments. Sounds like you need much more powerful machines well above 12,000 BTU. The higher the BTU rating the more cooling power and can have more chance on cooling or dehumidifying a very large area. Basically, the bigger the area then the bigger the output of the machine.....more power costs more money though. Remember to vacuum / wash ALL air intake vents and filters. Dust build up seriously reduces performance. Good luck buddy. Regards from thenapster126.

      Hiya. Its exactly the same principle as physics in nature. Air and water dont like each other so the suction of the water draining down the sink has to dispell air at the same time so hence a conical vortex or air appears independantly to the water around it. Regards from thenapster126.

    DH hose fitting solved: You need a M-F 3/4 x 1/2 reducing bush. Which cost me £1.69 from Screwfix. This has a long enough thread to screw tightly onto the top black drainage outlet. You can then screw a standard hose 1/2 fitting to that and then attach some normal garden hose with a click fitting. Now I have a watertight fitting on the top drainage hole I can finally see if that solves the dh drainage and leaking problem. After testing it didn't so definitely issues with the top drainage hole. I need to find a way to clean that out and make sure nothing is blocking it. As I can't unblock that drainage hole for now I've moved the hose and fittings to the bottom hole and put some cardboard under the front casters. This works ok in my case because I have a 3 stair drop to a small landing from the bottom drainage hole to the bucket. So the Amcor sits at the top of the 3 steps. I already opened and cleaned the unit last week and could see nothing blocking water being released from the top drainage hole. More investigation needed.

I removed all screws, but it seems stuck on. Luckily other comments do cover this, so I'll see if I can remove the back cover. Flyscreen on the bottom filter is a good idea.

    For anyone else that finds this video and is wondering how the case comes apart, I have some tips (N.B. THE UNIT IS NOT DESIGNED TO BE TAKEN APART YOU DO SO AT YOUR OWN RISK): 1. Make sure all the screws are out. There are 4 at the base of the unit, one on the rear face, three at the top (in a row with the central one holding in the grate), four behind the top removable grate, and one in the handles on each side. 2. The water outlet in the center of the rear face might catch on the rear casing when coming apart. Be wary of this as it is ridged and can become stuck. 3. There are many tabs running down each side of the unit that interlock. These can make it tricky to get the back face off. The back plastic is flexible, so don't be afraid to pull and shape the plastic such that the tabs do not interlock. I found it easiest to get all the tabs on the rear piece on the outside. 4. The top part of the rear casing fits snuggly on to the top control panel all the way round and is set into a groove. Tilt the unit such that you can get your hand underneath and pull away and downwards. Take your time with this as I saw the top control panel bending. Again, the pieces of plastic are flexible so don't be afraid to bend them, just don't stress them too much. 5. Once the rear casing is free from the top, make sure that you pull down. The inner grove on the top of the casing is very flexible but is also deep so could snap. If it snaps the unit may not go back together. Putting the casing back together is a case of making sure the top panel sits properly in the top groove of the rear casing and interlocking the lugs. Focus on the top first and work your way down. Don't be afraid to give firm taps to the casing to get it back into position. The very top of the rear casing has smaller tabs that fit snuggly behind the front casing. Make sure these are set first and the unit should go back together fairly easy. Otherwise, take your time.

    • @thenapster126
      @thenapster126 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for the comment. Yes, don't attempt this if you are not confident. A qualified service engineer is the best bet but to keep your machine at peak performance you can always vacuum everywhere from outside the machine without taking it apart. Constant use will require vacuuming very frequently...keep her running sweet with some love.

    That's not the main engines, I don't believe, they've not run for years although are still in place. I worked on XM594 and was one of the crew who used to run the Rover APU (Auxiliary Power Unit) which is a small engine who's exhaust is behind the starboard undercarriage. That is or was regularly started to open and close the bomb doors, landing and navigation lights, anti collision lights, ailerons etc. Nor does the museum have the £500 a minute it would cost to ground run the engines and they've not turned for literally decades

The rear case does not come off. The front case consists of three faces...front and two sides. Manipulate the front casing off gently leaving the black upper panel entact.
