Giant DIY 8FT Nutcracker

Have wanted to do a DIY giant nutcracker for a few years now but could never find the right shape materials to use. What else do you do when your husband works in fabrication, you utilise his skills and knock off materials he has laying around the workshop for your nutcracker structure. Worked out exactly how I pictured him, loved making this guy!

The Western Australian Superlites Association was lucky enough to be asked to participate at Speedfest 2015 held at the Perth Motorplex. Above is some of our club members having some fun out on the speedway circuit. Sorry about the wind noise.

I'm really shocked by some of these comments! I think this is a wonderful tutorial and offers room to make it your own as you make one. I did watch Thom's tutorial as well as some others and my personal plan is to combine parts from each to make my own. I LOVE the lights idea and will absolutely be using that in mine too, thanks to dollar tree! :) With that said, I can see where some folks are confused but I truly think if you watch a variety of how-to videos for this your own creativity will be sparked and you'll figure it out. Thanks for posting this video. I appreciate it very much, and what a very lucky baby to be showered with so many awesome gifts!

It was glitter, I do wish now that I hadnt used glitter as I would love to chnage it up with a different colour but that would involve a lot of work.

Nice job, but missing a lot of details on how to make the back of the jeep and the screen needs to be bigger so we can get a better view. Those side changing bars have to go as it takes away from your details. It becomes a big distraction and takes away a big part of your screen. Other than that, the jeep came out beautiful. Great job!

Hi Lisa, we are yet to find out as we only made it this year for this Christmas. As its made to be able to be taken apart we will do that and probably stack it all on a pallet and put up on the mezanine and cover with plastic.

How’d you make the nose?
And I just happen to have all those handy dandy power tools in my garage. Must be the simplest nutcracker on TH-cam to assemble. OMG!
Sheet metal welded up with some bolts out the back to bolt onto head.. Final assembly was actually the easiest part.
