I’m Muslim and even though I’m not the perfect Muslim my parents forced some self respect in me. I truly believed that if a man wanted to hold my hand he needed to marry me. 24 years I was single because I would scare guys away. My husband was my first hug. My parents helped me save my soul and I’m so thankful that my soul feel whole. I feel really proud of myself that I was able to protect my body and soul from men. my husband take pride in it too (he’s half white). After marrying me he stopped touching females all together with me even asking. Even Our touches feels electric to me.

I was once holding a stall for a deaf children’s charity at a large conference organised by Muslims in my city. At one point of one the organisers told me to take a break from manning the stall and to go inside the conference hall. To my upmost surprise the Texan preacher Yusuf Estes was on stage taking shahada from two young men who had just come out of prison. The audience was made up of almost every ethnicity I could think of and they all chanted “Allahu Akbar!” Then one of the organisers came to me and said “you next inshallah!” I was too stunned to speak as the whole experience felt surreal, like something from a movie. However, about one year later I became Muslim myself 🤷‍♀️
