A Whole New World Stairwell Snippet
It’s been a minute! Time travels fast! Here’s a little singing in the music building stairwell in honor of graduation being less than 3 weeks away! I’ve been doing a lot of teaching so I miss just being able to mess around and sing like this:) Hope y’all are doing well! I’ll be entering “a whole new world” this Fall;)

You have a lovely voice and presence! I don't know you, but this came across my recommended section because I'm playing Christmas Eve in a production of Avenue Q this summer, so I've been watching all the clips from the original production on repeat lol. I just wanted to tell you as a fellow Asian American MT actor, keep it up. I was sad to only be called back for Christmas Eve when there were other parts I wanted to be considered for even more, although of course it's a privilege to be a working actor at all these days. I'd love to see an Asian American Kate someday soon. We'll be seen for all our potential someday if we keep at it.

These past couple of years I would say, I have been learning more about what it means to be an Asian American woman, especially in the arts/music. I think it's great that we've made strides to not exclude actors to characters solely based on race, but rather to invite the artistic interpretation they have to offer to the stage. Congrats on your call back, but I do understand where you may have frustration and question. I hope it all works out for the best, and same to you! Keep it up and keep being you, and the rest will follow. <3
