Im binging your videos looking forward to spring!
Hey Heather, The Holy Grail, what size where they when you planted them?
Hello mam you have got a good property and a calm place also a very healthy land .this is the reason your plants are tall and happy
In late summer, extreme heat and direct afternoon sun...will the fab blooms turn brown? Im wanting longest possible bloom time
Mine didn’t. You do have to keep them watered in drought or anything will turn brown. If they are kept watered they shouldn’t turn brown.
@heathersmichigangarden thank you
I’m on Michigan too! I will be planting these in front of my porch with Blue Arrow Juniper!
That should be very beautiful!
The quick fire fab shrubs have a very interesting shape I like how they shoot up in the middle and all around it's lower it's actually kind of cool LOL
Yes. They are interesting. I’m looking forward to seeing how they mature.
Wow those quickfire fabs look FABULOUS!!!!🎉🎉
I know. I love the panicle, the shape, the color changes and the growth pattern.
I am in awe....your gardens are beautiful you have every variety of hydrangea and so many other beautiful plants!!! I'm assuming they're all on a drip or do you do all those by hand??? LOL I just ordered a sugar tip Rose of Sharon tree but it's shipping in just a one gallon pot so I imagine it will be a itty bitty thing. I'm in zone 6B and hoping that I can just keep it in my unheated garage over the winter and it would be okay to plant in the Spring....what do you think??? :)
Thank you so much for watching my videos and reaching out. I don’t have my gardens on drip. I only water them if we go through really dry periods and they look like they need. I’ve heard that if you don’t water they root deeper in search of water, if they aren’t supplemented but obviously in a drought situation, I supplement. Your Rose of Sharon should be ok but you do have to give it some water. Most nurseries wait to ship to Northern states until Spring. Let me know how it turns out.
@@heathersmichigangardenthat's what I said too... I've got two dwarf pepitos that won't ship till spring so this confused me... plus it's coming from Alabama think this cold could kill it. My "unheated" garage has been 50 to 55 which isn't helping my fall potted bulbs 😢 but think the rose Sharon be ok if just water in pot comes in and keep in garage even though it'll be only partially dormant they said? It's arriving today and 28 degrees!!!😢😢
Love seeing these!
Thank you for watching my videos. I already can’t wait for Spring.
@heathersmichigangarden me too! I have so many fun projects planned!
This is so beautiful
Is just a gorgeous hydrangea! I love it!
Fabulous plants,loved them all ❤
Thank you. Hibiscus are a highlight of my late summer garden.
Your surprise "pillar" Rose of Sharon is Purple Pillar. I have a row of 5 Purple Pillars between myself and our neighbor for privacy for them and us. They do indeed get VERY tall and thin which is great and just covered in blossoms and for months I can watch hummingbirds zooming around & feeding in them while I wash dishes. The Purple Pillars seem to particularly attract the hummers in my yard over the Chiffons. I have 2 pink chiffon and 1 lavender chiffon. It is mid-November and the Lavender Chiffon continues to put on blossoms in Northern CA (crazy)!
It is a beautiful Rose of Sharon. I have several of the blue Chiffon and the bees and hummingbirds seem to enjoy them. I have few pink chiffon which have struggled but are starting to take off. Thank for letting me know. I’ve noticed many of the Rose of Sharon being mistagged in the stores.
Which fertilizer do you use? Thx
I never really fertilized that big Pinky Winky hydrangea but I use Organic Holley Tone on some of my other hydrangeas.
Omg thanks for sharing this is awesome
I’m glad you like it and thank you for watching!
I’m so happy - I just scored one of these for $7.50 - it was originally $30, at Home Depot. Can’t wait to plant it and see what the beautiful huge flowers. Thanks for inspiring me.
That’s amazing! What a great price. Thank you for watching my channel. I hope you love it!
Beautiful! Thanks for sharing!🌿🌹
Thank you for watching!
Wow. That Pinky Winky is HUGE! About how long did it take to get that big?
Thank you for watching and the question! I’m not sure. It was one of the first hydrangeas I planted. I think it took about 10 years to get that big. It keeps getting bigger. I keep cutting it back.
I would love to see a video of you cutting back that pinky winky!!!! @@heathersmichigangarden
You can also use BAKING SODA mixed with WATER and spray on them, will prevent the damage....................
Thank you for the tip!
I wish I knew of Pinky Winky before I bought my other hydrangeas. It’s so pretty and delicate.
There is a new Pinky Winky Prime too
@@heathersmichigangarden REALLY?!?!😍
Is the Hibiscus tree will com back in summer or is die form cold winter 🥶
All of my Hardy hibiscus come back after our cold winters!
I i just found ur channel and loved ur garden 🥰 those hydrangeas are gorgeous 👍🏻👏🏻 Which part of Michigan your located ? Do these take heat in summer?
I’m in zone 6. They love heat and mine are planted in full sun. They also like water!
Watching from northern Vermont. This was very helpful annd I will anpply what you described to my own garden routine! I loved seeing your hydrangeas behind you as you explained the care you give your rose mallow!
Thank you so much for watching and the comment. I have many videos on my hydrangeas too! ❤️
Beautiful! How do you keep the deer away?
I don’t know. I have them in my yard daily. They have nibbled on some of my hydrangeas but I consider it a free pruning because they grow back.
How much sun do these ones get? Thanks!
Those Quick Fire Fab are in full sun. My Quick Fire Fab in my back yard are also in full sun. Thank you for the question.
Since this cultivar blooms on new growth, you can actually cut it back much more aggressively if you want to keep it below your window height. You could in theory even cut it to the ground over winter.
That would make me so nervous to cut it back to the ground but I do agree I could do that. Thank you so much for the awesome information! 🌷
Hi Heather thanks for your video! Where we just moved to there is a beautiful hardby hibiscus and we will get snow here in the winter, should I wait to cut it down until February like you did in this video? I've watched your videos and read other blogs and its mixed between cut them in the fall and cover them with mulch or cut them in the early spring and fertilize.
I have had great success in waiting to do the cut back in the Spring. I do believe you can cut it back in the winter but I prefer to do all of my pruning in the Spring.
Beautiful ❤
Thank you!
Wow! Beautiful! 😍
Thank you!
Wow they are stunning!! What State is this located?
Michigan
👍
Thank you for watching!
Are the pots getting smaller? Im confused. Keep posting though! TH-cam needs content creators
Those are from a couple years ago when I first planted my hydrangeas so my fellow gardeners could see how small they were and how much they have grown in 3 years.
Was that quart and a 5 gallon???
Texas leaving Michigan with a win
😂
My mailbox gets a lot of road salt in the winter. Would a Hibiscus make it??
I wish I could answer that but I really don’t know.
Stunning garden! I was hoping to see puffer fish at this time of year, how are yours doing?
I’ll try and do an update on my puffer fish but they seem to doing great! ❤️
I'm planting limelight, QF Fab and Firelight for an ombre effect this fall, so excited, so beautiful!
That sounds awesome! I’d love to see a picture!
Beautiful garden❤❤❤❤
Thank you so much!
I know it’s impossible to state the size of all of your hydrangeas. However, when you do an update, can you include the age of each and the gallon size when planted.
I do have a hydrangea playlist and actually shows them from the very beginning. Many of my quick fire fab were tiny in the 4” pot. Just little things.
@@heathersmichigangarden thank you! Off to view!
What zone r u in?
4a to 6b. I’m in the 6b range.
I am trying to firgure out which one to get the pink color in the fall. Here in louisville ky we dong get cool nights till like oct or nov so my hydragena gets alil light brown it gets a lil pink but not really pink or darl pink. Which one should i go with?

Thank you!
Wowza! I love the tour. The ginormous pinky winki is incredible! I am such a big fan from watching your videos.
Thank you so much! I appreciate you watching and your comments. ❤️
I love your videos! How do you water your hydrangea? Mine look sick - maybe too much water on the drip.
This year it has rained so much, I haven’t supplemented at all. The leaves were yellow from all of the rain washing the nutrients away. I put some amendments to help with clorosis. It seemed to help but a soil test is best to see what your soil might need.
Beautiful 😍
Thank you

Is it a newly planted hibiscus in the ground?
Gorgeousness
Thank you!
Wow, so beautiful!
Thank you. I work really hard in my garden.
👏🏻 🌺🌹
Thank you
Hi Heather! It looks like the “Fab” has a deeper pink color, suitable for fall. Is this true? I really don’t want a loud pink at the end of summer. Does the “Fab” require the same amount of watering as a regular panicle? Also, THANK YOU for showing and the thoroughly discussing the Fab when it’s later in the growing year. I’ve searched YT and the other videos show only the white stage. 🌸🌸🌸
The Quick Fire Fab is a beautiful hydrangea for the fall. It continues to get a deeper color as we go into the fall season. I just posted a video on 8/27/2024 called “10 of My Favorite Hydrangeas Growing in My Garden To Must See.” This shows more of the current color, size, etc. It doesn’t require anything different as any other Panicle and mine are planted in Full Sun! Check out this new video, I think you will really like it!
