Great video and thanks, Gary, I haven't watched it all yet, but I am going to later. I am sure I can use some of your great ideas. I have a similar car that I raced here for about 8 or 9 years, it's currently being rebuilt and put back to its original racing spec. I hope to have it to a similar standard to your car. Mine was raced all over Britain and in the hands of John Warren, twice won its class in the Falkin Tires Modified Production Saloon Championship. It has an interesting history in that I thought John Warren built it, but I tracked him down a few years ago and he said he had bought it from a well-known Capri racer and that it was a sister car to either a works car or something like that. Unfortunately, John Warren was old and with a fading memory couldn't remember the name of the Capri driver or much at all about the car's history. The previous owner, who imported it to NZ thought that it could have been a CC car, as it had a couple of trick bits that were on those cars. But I think most of them have been tracked down now, so it's probably not. I think the engine was a Neil Brown engine, which I have since rebuilt, and I have a Neil Brown gearbox. Mine puts out 272hp and has 350 Nm of torque, which seems similar to yours, although I run triple Webbers. We developed a block girdle for mine as those Essex engine's caps fly apart once you go past about 180hp. I'd be interested in what you have done to stop the caps from breaking when the blocks twist.

Looks like it could use a softer suspension setting.

So much enjoyment out of seeing this being driven by Steve with such enthusiasm. What a glorious soundtrack too. A quick question with regards to the gearbox in the car. Does it run a 5-speed as Jim used in period, or does it have a 6-speed allowed from 1991 under local Group A rules?
